Hi all,

Is it normal that the check engine light illuminates and flashes for about 7 times when I put my key in and turn it to the second ignition. Once I started the car, the light goes off. Other signs on the dash board will also illuminate but will not flash, which is normal and I expect that.

Just that check engine light flash for 7 times. Is this normal?
Thanks!

why does it take you so long to start the car? 7 seconds?

No Thrizzle, I once turned my key only to the second place (just before you start the car), I noticed the check engine light flashing for 7 times. That is why I am wondering if it is normal.

Other signs don't flash, they just illuminate and then go off, but only the check engine light flash for 7 times.

Hi credential23, I know all things lights up when first turn the ignition, but they won't flash on and off tho... my check engine light flash on and off for 7 times and then will stop.

Mine does that too. Don't worry about it and enjoy the car. :)

Sorry to revive an old thread but I also ran into this problem today. Car hasn't ran in 10 weeks. Just came back from working in the states. No movement upon ignition attempt. Found the starter wasn't working. Wires good tho, I replaced the starter. It cranks over but ignition. All the fuses are in good order. Fuel pump is working. Going to try a plug/coil pack test in the morning. Any ideas? Thanks guys
