Plastic "roof clip" popped off!

I have a 2012 Mazda3 GT. On monday morning when i went to take my car to work, i saw one of the black plastic "roof clips" popped up from the roof of my car! I carefully removed it and put it onto the passenger seat, but now I think I should re-install it. Is it something easy that I can just pop back on, or was that a part that's not supposed to "pop up" and does this mean something/someone damaged my car???

If it's what I think it is, it's just a plastic cover for the roof rack mounts. You can just pop it back on, they kind of insert and slide to lock. Not sure why it would come out by itself :) But unless there's any damage to the roof around it, I wouldn't worry about it.

What if I left it off? Mine look kinda ghetto... as in, they both have bends in them... don't really look that great...

Id put it on. If its the part were thinking.

If you ever decide on a roof rack you'll have a bitch of a time using the threaded hole in there.
