Im looking to get rid of some of the really terrible sounds of panel rattling & looking to remove some of the road noise.
Who here has Matted a 2010+ 3 with good results, what area's of the car did you do?
I had most of the rear end pulled apart for the sub install (wire routing for the side panel access)

I'm going to go ahead and say the top part of the trunk and around the spare wheel ! I have a wire running through there that could be causing rattling so I'm thinking of getting my trunk matted

I did pretty much the entire car. Way overkill, but my car sounds like a Lincoln now, lol
I'd say definitely the rear floor, wheel wells and in the corners around the tail light areas. Would also be beneficial to do the door panels around the speakers... try and get a few small pieces up through the speaker holes to the outside skin, but make sure you squeeze out any bubbles, or creases that water could potentially get into when doing the door panels.

hey, i have an 06 hatch and i couldnt stand the rattle from the bass so i put dynamat pretty much everywhere and it made such a difference in quality for sure and majority of the rattle is gone

Road noise was a very minimal change, but for bass it helped fix all the rattles.
I did the entire car from floor up and also added foam inbetween the door frame and the trim panel

The difference after doing the entire car is very noticeable, and I even have a sunroof. Mind you it's going to take a whole week to do the "entire car" like this...
These pictures were taken before the deadening was finished... You can still see bare spots on the door panels.
The only noticeable noise that I get comes from behind the dash in the engine compartment. That white padding in the front was installed before they put everything together in the front, and the only way to really get behind most of it is to cut it... which I didn't want to do, so I just shoved my arm in as far as i could reach from the bottom, lol.
Like I said... I went way overkill, but no regrets.
(and if anyone's looking for an Eonon Navigation unit for the 10+... I'll be selling the one installed here. PM me if interested)
