2007 Mazda 3 Sport GS Check engine light :(

I bought this car used with a little over 100 000 km on it and the whole week the car was doing great and Thursday I put new all season tires on. Anyway last night I was picking up the wife from work and as I put it in reverse to back out of a parking space the car started to shake a sputter like it was gonna die.
I got home fine than tried to replicate the problem and it happen again and also happen when I slowly drove forward as well.
So today I was taking the wife to work and as I was backing out the car started to choke again but this time I got a check engine light come up.So I pulled over and immediately called the place I got the car from and they told me to bring it in on Tuesday so I guess i will find out what could it be.I only had this thing for about a week or so and wonder if this is gonna be an ongoing thing.
Anyone else had anything similar like this happen and what was the problem if it did.

you can go to part source in the morning and get them to do a free engine code scan and you can research what the code is and go from there

The thing is I disconnected the battery so I can reset the thing which it did and the check engine light is gone.So I took the car for a drive around town to see whats up and it seems to be doing better now.Also I noticed when the engine was chocking the headlights were flickering a little as well.Just thought I should mention that.

The problem is there is no way to tell what it was. Get it scanned next time "if" it does come back. Don't just clear it.

if the scanner is good enough, it can also look up past codes even after the battery has been disconnected before

yea, best to get a code scanned instead of just clearing it. at least youll know what itll be

the passenger headlight correct? seems to be that corrosion builds at the connection of the light bulb. seems typicals on mazda 3's. manufacture problem
