I finally decided to get a HID kit for my 2012 GX.
They came today and I'm pretty confident on knowing how to install except one part is confusing me.
Is this wire needed?

Im using the Morimoto kit from The Retro Fit Source.

Yes. The plug goes into the ballast and the two prongs go into your factory power plug.

Also, keep in mind that when you plug the prongs in, black goes with black and red goes with whatever the other colour is on the factory plug. Test to see if the lights ignite. If it does, then proceed to wrap it up with electrical tape.

Assuming you have a relay, you'll only need the power line from the relay on one side

2010+ don't require a relay.

How else you going to get power?

I'm learning how to do it but still a little confused.
I have the heavy duty relay that came with the kit, I was under the impression that it was just for safety so I planned on using it.
Anyone happen to have a diagram showing what everything plugs into?

Circle to circle
Oval to ballest
Plugs to oem wire loom.

I finally found the diagram I had earlier.
It shows how to wire it using the relay. I was confused to how I was going to get power to the relay, I guess I just use one OEM connector instead of two to power the whole thing!

Always use a relay, good work.

Thanks for the help guys! I got it installed but when i turn the lights on the fm radio goes away, it also seems like the gauges and stuff dim too much. Is this a bad ground or something?

Hmmmm ... are you grounding to the chassis? Richard of Friendly Auto Body told me to ground it to the chassis on a part that is not welded or painted. You can try re-grounding it ... but aside from that, I don't have any other suggestions
The drivers side is grounded to the battery, the passenger side should be grounded to an unpainted part of the chassis

At first i grounded both to the chasis because i am a noob lol but i put the right one on the battery and half of the static is gone now! Im gone out now but tomorrow im gonna get at it again!

Everyone is a n00b at something :) there's always something to learn. In fact, when I installed my Morimoto's, I used the same image as you, but then I couldn't find it again so hence couldn't post it. GOOD LUCK! Hope re-grounding fixes it for you.

Alright so I grounded both sides to the battery and still the FM radio has lots of static, I'm not sure what to do anymore.

Hmmmm ... someone with more experience than me might be able to help ... but have a look at these references for now, you might also want to contact TRS about it, they're great with support:
http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?41645-Headlights-causing-Radio-Interference (there's a post from TRS too)

http://www.mazda3forums.com/showthread.php?t=289775
I didn't read whether the sol'n was in there, it seems to indicate that the ballasts may be causing the interference and to relocate them, but I didn't see any definitive answers ... but at least you have some direction now.

Have you tried Disconnecting your HIDs (just disconnect the power lines, temporarily. Dont rip it all out) to see if your FM radio signal gets any better?
Could just be a coincidence

So I hooked up the ballasts using the original power plug and the interference was gone, it seems to be the relay that is doing it! Maybe the grounds are still bad?

Does anyone happen to have a picture of a spot on the passenger side that they are 100% sure it is a good ground?
Sorry for double post, I can't edit yet.

There are empty screw holes in the chassis that Richard tells me are meant to be for ground points. I have an 08, so I'm not sure what it looks like in your 2012 engine bay.
THIS IS NOT MY ENGINE BAY - FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY ... but the red circle is where I grounded it:

This is a ground point? I still get static with it on this side.

Fixed
And that should be good. If not, you can use the top most screw that is holding down your headlight. I use that as my ground and works very well.

Im gonna move the ballasts under my headlights in a couple days, thats what they recommended for me to do. But for now i can deal with static on fm. But damn i'm very impressed with the lights! I'll post the pictures up later! Also thanks to everyone that helped me out :D

This is what my lights look like. What's up with the yellowish blocks above the white light? Is that normal?

Hmmmm that looks like other lights are on ... or maybe they're not aimed properly? I've never seen that ...

its the cutoff on the projectors

The blobs over the cutoff is glare, that's what blinds oncoming traffic. They're often called squirrel finders as well. that's what happens when you put an HID kit in a halogen housing. Head over to hidplanet.com and geteducated on how to properly fit HIDs to a car that didn't come with them from the factory.

Relax Peter. The Mazda3 halogen projectors are fine and last time I checked, there are no squirrels on the hoods of on-coming cars.
Peter sold me a defective aftermarket H7 HID kit back in 2004. Now he thinks he's better than others because he has OEM HIDs. :)

I see you're still looking for someone to blame and it seems like you know as much now as you did then.

I feel like the little "squirrel finders" aren't going to be blinding anyone. They aren't big enough to make a difference.
