Greetings,

Please forgive me if this is the wrong spot to post or if I am doing something else the incorrect way, first time using a forum.

I've tried to find info in numerous other locations on this issue and haven't been satisfied with the answers/info that I found so I decided to create my own post.

When I'm driving, and sitting still, this issue happens; music is sounding great with right amount of bass then BAM, bass cuts in insanely powerful. I try readjusting the ALC and Bass levels through the stereo to try and fix it and most of the time it doesn't resolve anything. Another issue; the ALC will cut out randomly (all the time) and volume will drop so I resort to the ol faithful move of switching volume from 35 to 34 then back up to 35 so it will sound normal again. I try turning the ALC to "off" and it doesn't truly work, it is still affected by the alc, I can hear the volume cutting in and out like the alc was still on.

I am curious if there is a solution to this or anyone knows what is going on, it is driving me insane.

I am in dire need to FULLY disable the ALC so I can rule that out of the equation...how do I do that?

Some things to note:
-Speaker wire is "crumbly" and basically falls apart when you touch it - (tried cutting back the rubber on the wire and getting a good amount of the "bare wire" into each "port" to try and rule out loose speaker wire/bad connection - did it and the issue is still there, maybe I didn't do it good enough)
-the ground wire appears to be grounded okay under the carpet in my trunk (amp is attached to sub box which is in trunk) however the outside casing of the wire looks to be almost melted/slightly burnt, it has a brownish color and feels like its sticky to the touch, I was thinking it got hot and melted the part of my car where it was touching it and that is the residue that occurred because of it?
-subs are installed via splicing into rear speaker wire

Thanks in advance!
