Hey all,
Im looking to get my 1st gen ms3 tuned. Im not sure if I should go with an etuner or get it done on the dyno. Ive obviously done my homework on the pros and cons of both, but now Im actually trying to find some places or people in Toronto to get this done. Any good Etuners on this site, or and good shops that you have been to to get your ms3 tuned?
Thanks all,

Hyperion

I personally went with Stratified and only recommend them to everyone.

The advantage to dealing with Mspeed is they have access to a Dyno. Thus you need not risk street logging and getting pulled over and losing your license. As well , the time and gas spent logging on the street versus being able to accurately dial in on a Dyno.

Definitely stratified for etune, but as LOKI mentioned its not safe when it comes to street tunning-I was worried doing 000kmh on highway for at least 10-15 times for logs etc. I went with Lex at strat and he is good, but then again I am in van so we met and spent 3 hours and it was done:-)

Sorry to bring this thread up from the dead. But I'm having issues getting a hold of Mspeed tuning. Anyone got any tips?

Fobio is going to Vegas this weekend and has been very busy the last couple of weeks, you could always try talking to one of the other Mspeed guys(Bluestreak or Celest) to see if you can get in touch with Fobio.

So I've been having zero luck getting in contact with any of the Mspeed guys,( Fobio, Bluestreak and Celest). I'm curious now of there are any other members here who do the same thing. I'd rather do tuning on the dyno just to get er done in a few hours. Would aph themselves be able to tune my car?
Thanks!

Yes, APH does tunes too, you can try contacting them.

OP can get Dyno time and have Stratified tune it via the interweb, always an option, trouble shooting issues if they occur might be an issue though.

Appreciate the input, but OP would rather just get it done in one day kinda thing. Stratifield I'm sure does amazing work but it seems like a lot to do it on dyno with them through the Web

Guess you'll have to just wait for Mspeed to get back from vacation lol... I am still pondering my tuning options too so I understand your conundrum

It's actually not that difficult to do it. Networks now a days are quite easy to setup for these types of things. However, I was just putting out another suggestion if OP wanted a tune ASAP, and a reliable solid tune for that matter.

Alright, gonna give stratfield a shout and see what they say, if not, gonna go with APH themselves I guess.

Ya, total agree. I know he made my car drive like a bat out of hell within 3 tune revisions.

King...I just got back and replied to your PM. Options are great and you have many choices.

If cost is all that is important, then by all means, go with the cheapest.

MSpeed's results speak for themselves, and we are inundated with requests to not just tune retail customers, but racecars that compete in regional series.

Our own cars are track and stress tested to beyond what a normal street driver will ever attain, and our results speak for themselves. That is why we have no need or inclination to compete with "e-tuners"...and we are also selective with who we like work with.

But again options are great, and if cost is your only concern, then we're happy that you have other options to choose from.

Thank you for all the interest.

I appreciated the pm a lot, also replied. I'm sorry about the lack of patience while you were out on your vacation, which I hope was amazing. But I'm sure you can sympathize, the joy of getting a pro tune is getting to me and I can't wait. Mspeed is the way to go and I know it, hopefully we can get started as soon as possible!
Cheers

I wouldn't say they are the way to go, but I guess that comes to personal preference....

Agreed. A lot of dyno charts posted on MSF and here are some Lex: http://www.stratifiedauto.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=2&zenid=i5jg8uupu48qe8vntkenlhuf24 also here's some track day wins from a driver that was stratified tuned: http://stratifiedauto.com/blog/stratified-tune-mazdaspeed3-takes-1st-in-st-3-at-watkins-glen-and-lime-rock/

As you can tell, I really support Lex, and best of all he's Canadian too.

The last time I checked. Wasn't mspeed Canadian also? But at least being tuned with mspeed they will keep you outta jail while tuning your car on a dyno.

Another thing that I have to mention with mspeed those boys got your back when your vehicle shits the bed. There are a few of us on here that can attest to that. I'm one of them.

Whatever works for the person purchasing a tune, yes it's nice that with MSpeed you don't have to break speed limits. Either way you'll be better off with the custom tune as opposed to those cruddy OTS maps.

Happy tuning!

just upgraded to stage 2 with COBB AP map, want go to APH for the custom tune, anyone have tried them before?

I believe 100% of the MSpeed dyno based tunes have been done at APH.
