i installed LED Strips in my car to light up the floors and i drew power from the bulb that was in the ashtray by disconnecting the =ve and -ve wire from the bulb and after i installed them (with a switch to turn them on and off cause how they wire they turn on with headlights and always stay on) i tested them out and worked prefcetly fine but i amde a dumb amateur mistake in not turning off the lgiths when hiding the wires for the strips and accidently shorted out a strip while on by touching the +ve and -ve together (stupid me forgot to put tape around so that couldnt happen.
after incident
1. annoying sound car makes when headlights are on with door open is silent
2. lights for the speedometer arent working at all
3. only the milage LAMP is on BUT its always on when car is started even without headlights being turned on
4. The dimmer to brighten/darken the dash lights dont work anymore
5. headlights tail lights brake lights and all other lights still work fine.
6. i disconnected a couple strips from connection to car power where i took power from and tested it with a battery and it still works.
7. tested fi where i too power from still has power and obviously doesnt draw power anymore.
so clearly if fried a fuse/relay/something important and i was wondering what it could be i havent checked any fuses yet or touched anything
