In 2011 I disconnected the AUX port to install the factory Sirius module.
Have been happy with that, but lately I've wanted to plug my ipod in and listen to some of my saved music.
Beginning of this week, I began researching.
Finding the diagrams, I have managed to get both the SAT and AUX to work.
Basically just matched the connectors pin for pin. moving the wires from the AUX connector into the SAT connector.
Only issue so far is while listening to Sirius, if you play something from your ipod, it will start to play over the Sirius. Switching to the AUX mode on the radio brings in only the ipod music.
If anyone is going to do this, be weary that the audio signals from the satellite harness are 2 wires being put into 2 ports on the connector.
RH+, LH+, SG(signal ground) was a purple wire on my SAT harness. Something like Pin 2,3,4 on the harness.
(Pin 13 on Sat Connector is blank, remove and install Pin 13 from AUX Cable)
Brown+Green wire from the AUX box goes to ground ( I believe pin 1)
So, while a minor inconvenience, I now have functionality of both SAT and AUX in my car while saving $100+ for the SwitchBox
I work for an electronics company, and studied electronics in College, so I'm going to see what I can come up with that will be like the Switch Box. (Try to avoid the AUX input while in SAT mode)
You could put a manual switch in, DPDT on the Audio signals then the main going back to the radio. But something a bit more seamless would be nice.
Hope this helps people out that would like to have both functions. I know I enjoy it!
I'll add pictures later of the two functioning. and see if I can draw up the diagram.
