View Full Version : Squealing noise from front drivers side area

Hey Guys, it has been a while since I've posted but my lovely little 3 had the pleasure of starting to make this horrendous sound. I've posted a video below (sorry about perspective)

I am reversing, wheels are turned to the right. This sound also seems to happen while driving straight, at slow speeds, highway speeds and even last night accompanied with a clunking/thunking sound which freaked the crap out of me as I imagined myself losing a wheel and smashing into the guardrail.... anyways this did not happen but I'm still worried and will be getting it checked out soon. Anyone have any ideas/2 cents worth? There is also no inability to steer and I do not feel any wheel vibrations at all. Seems to happen more when turning right...

sounds like the tire is rubbing against the fender liner (or something). maybe the liner has come a bit loose and is now contacting the tires.

I'd go along with that. Had a sound something like this and it was the liner rubbing against something. Hopefully it's that because it's an easy fix and cheap.

Was able to get to the mechanic yesterday, it's actually the front wheel bearing and the entire knuckle has to be replaced actually. if you heard the squeal today you would have definitely ruled out tire rubbing.

So, not an inexpensive fix but it shall be fixed and back on the road soon I hope :)

LOLOL heeeey girl! Ya I've been kicking around. My work blocked TM3 for a good while which is where most of my posts came from (productive right?) Car is back, alive, kicking and now just in need of a very good detail. I've been neglecting her! Hope you're doing well too :)
