Someone is selling locally near me four JBL 6.5" round shape door speakers and I would love to grab this ones and install in my 2007 Mazda 3 hatch but don't know if they will fit cause they have round shape to them.
Here is some pics of them

You just needthe right adapter brackets, or make them from ply wood

So I guess I can use the template that I downloaded from one of the threads on here somewhere then and just use plywood to cut out?
Ill give it a try cause my front oem speakers got soaked with water somehow when we had rain here. Not to mention they sound like shit and feel like cheap paper.
Thanks for the info by the way.

I'm running 6.5" kickers in my front and rear doors, used 1/4" MDF to make the brackets.

I also noticed the water issue on my stock speakers when I took them out. I bought some speaker baffles to help protect them.

What did you use as a guide to make the mdf brackets?Did you use the pdf template that's around here?
And I guess Im not the only one to suffer from this water thing in the speakers and i thought I did something to cause it cause I had previously removed the door panel to run some wires for my sub installation.
Thanks for the info.

The bracket template found on the site here should work fine. Use 1/4" mdf board for the brackets as it's far easier to work with. Also as mentioned by Sonic31, purchase some speaker baffles to protect them from water damage. I installed the Sonic baffles but cut-out a 1 and 1/4" opening in the back for air to escape, and so far no issues and the speakers sound awesome.

Ditto on using the template, worked like a charm.

As for cutting out a hole, I would advise against it, you'll get a better sound response keeping them sealed.

OK thanks for the everyone now time to get rid of the cheap ass stock speakers and slap in the new ones.
Also I might need to get something to stop the rattles in my hatch but I guess that will come after I'm done with the speakers.
Cheers!

That is debatable. Furthermore, considering these speakers were not designed to be 'enclosed', therefore a certain amount of air must be allowed to escape or you may not get the full travel expected from the woofer.

Very true, cutting a hole in the baffle will essentially cause the speaker baffle to act like a ported box rather than a sealed box.

I've listened to my particular speakers both with and without the baffles. I initially had them in a different car without a water issue.

While the variables effecting how the speaker would sound from one car to the next are legion in my personal experience the difference on sound was negligible.

The only difference I experienced was that with sealed baffles the music was a little "tighter" and or accurate.

In both cases I had a subwoofer to pick up the low end of the music so base response was a little less of a concern.

So perhaps my post was a little misleading.
