Hello,

I just realized the other day that my tweeters aren't working...they must have not been working for quite some time it's only when I was cleaning my doors and my ears were next to them I heard nothing. I had my windows tinted at Audio Heaven awhile back and they had to take the tweeters off to tint the windows. I think I'm out of luck taking it to Mazda and saying they stopped working so I guess I'll have to fix them myself. I really don't wanna take anything apart. How can I go about taking off the tweeters and seeing if they are connected or not?

Use your fingers to pull on the tweeter panels along the edge facing the door window. They will pop out with a bit of force. Don't worry everything you take apart in the interior feels like you're going to break it, and then it pops off and you're like "sweet, I'm awesome".

The tweeter plug is right on the back of the speaker so if it is unplugged you'll see right away. If it is plugged in then the problem lies somewhere else.

Quick tip #584: when you want to take off panels, leave the car in the sun to warm up a bit. Softens the plastic and makes it easier to get apart and less likely to break.

If you don't want to attempt it yourself, I'd suggest you take it back to Audio Heaven since they had disconnected them. It's possible they did not connect them properly and I'm sure they would have no issue helping out. Plus if it turns out the tweeters are fried you can have them throw in new ones right there and then...no problem.

+1.

Take it back to audio haven and have them check the connection. They had removed them, and they stand by their work. Everyone is human so mistakes do happen.
If its turns out they are connected properly take it to the dealer if your car is under warranty. Otherwise. It seems like a great time for an upgrade.
