Green Parking Spot

Hi Everyone,
I saw this at my local mall and wondered what you thought of this. It also allows for high occupancy vehicles. What does that mean? Mini-buses, SUVs? After going back I saw a GMC truck parked there. Hmmmm. Thoughts on this?

useless, any car can be conidered high occupancy. and unless they can enforce this, its just another parking spot. looks like high occupancy is 3 or more people by the picture

I think all these signs are just a courtesy thing. Only thing you need to worry about are the accessible sports. I've never seen the "Expecting/With Children" and "Green Parking" spots being enforced, as in someone getting towed or a ticket for it.

I can understand the expecting mothers spot, if its for a women whos ready to pop a kid out any second. Or a spot for electric cars if they have charging stations. But these hybrid spots are ridiculous...

I guess for me, take out the high occupancy vehicles part and I guess I that would be ok. The other thing I noticed is that the sign is probably sponsored by the autosharing companies.

Put sticky tac or even a magnet behind it and keep it in your glovebox.

Someone did confront me one time at a Home Depot when I was parked in the hybrid spot. Told me my truck wasn't a hybrid, I told them it had electric motors for the windows and locks, they didn't find it as funny as my buddy and I did.

You know what would be "smart parking". Parking for vehicles with 2 doors. They are always the ones that bash the car next to you. Put those parking spots in the back. Instant fine for parking sideways like a douche too!

You technically cannot give tickets for any cars violating this, not municipal tickets at least, only disability spots can be municipally enforced. This is just a good-will gesture to people who drive green vehicles. Anyone who parks "illegally" is just subject to social scrutiny lol

People just don't have any respect for law/decency anymore. We have hybrid only parking at the Superstore in my town, and its always old 1990 junkers or oversized trucks parking in those vehicles. I've always believed the type and condition of car you drive is very representative of someone's personality, and these situations usually prove it.
