Hey guys,
I'm sure some of you guys have ran into this issue before.
When you are using USB play back, it doesn't resume to your last track after you have turned off your car. It just starts from the beginning again. It's getting very annoying. I'm using a brand new Lexar USB 3.0 8gb in a
Does anyone know the fix to this?
Thanks in advance!

i mean.. i dont know if it matters but you are using a flash drive. not a phone/ mp3 player for example. so there really is not software to tell it to play where it left off, once power is cut to the usb port it reads it as a new drive and starts again. so i would think the only way around that is an ipod or phone or somethign that had the software to be able to pick and choose.

+1...if you are playing it off a USB its not going to recognize where you left off e.g. if you plug that usb into a computer and play the media file and take out the USB and then plug it back in, the computer is not gonna recognize where you left off...same idea w/ the car

I'm gonna do a plus 3.
Even my aftermarket HU doesn't recognize the place you left off on a USB key.
Get yourself a little iPod nano. Then it will resume where you left off.

Brb testing...
Okay, so my test results came back inconclusive...
Basically, as a 2013 owner I know what you mean. I arrive to work with track 28 playing, turn off car, unplug phone. 8 hours later, I plug it back in, start the car and its playing track 1.
However, just now when I went down to the car, plugged it in and turned it on... It resumed playing where it left off. And I've been at work for a couple of hours now... And this isn't the first time it happened. Occasionally it will even be such that I leave car on track 10, come back 5 hours later and it connects to bluetooth and resumes from that track...
I don't know if there is a 'cooldown' time or if it matters how you unplug phone (i.e. unplug, start car, or start car then unplug, etc).

why dont you guys just set up the Bluetooth function? Every phone has it now and it always works like a charm for me (2012 sky)

Well the problem is.
The op is using a USB key. Not a phone.
Well, I have a 5 yr old Audiolink device and I'm using an USB stick, and it always resumes playing. It would be really annoying to start at track 1 every time!!
On the side, this is one of the complains in the new 6, too.

Sorry I should have quoted metal wing. I get that op is using a USB but of feasible the Bluetooth feature of the car is so much more handy
I have a JVC KWNT30 double din navigation head unit, and it always resumes playing the USB where it left off. Even if I shut off in the middle of a track it will resume playing at that point.

This is a major issue with 2014 Mazda 6 & CX-5 models

The issue is specific to the USB interface ( well the crappy coding used in the HUD) and will occur with the USB key or iPhone/ipod/INano in the 2014 Mazda 6s/CX-5. Guys on other forums are bitching about how long their 160Gb iPod Classics are loading and they can't even browse. The bluetooth interface is useless as the shuffle mode will not work with it.
