I bought a underglow body kit from www.ledglow.com specifically this one

http://www.ledunderbody.com/Million-Color-Wireless-LED-Underbody-Neon-Lighting-Kit.aspx

And I need help with the installation. Mainly mounting the brackets for the tubes to attach to.

I don't have any jack stands or access to a car lift

A friend said to use a 90 degree drill (or drill bit for a non drill)

But regardless I'd have to align the brackets properly plus don't know how I'm gonna mount the rear tube as there's isn't a perfect surface to mount.

I have made all the holes and wired the other stuff it's just mounting the tubes

Anyone done this mod before and/or can help me with installation?

I had a kit installed before but it was a cheapass one that doesn't work anymore so I took it out.

Aside from being totally awesome, aren't they illegal?

What's with these neon lights lately....

Unless your car is a show car and at a show....its the only exception of these things...

Other than that like others have mentioned On the other neon threads......this isn't the 90's....

If your one of those cool teenage kids that disobey the law cuz this isnt legal....then sure do it.....

I got my interior kit from them and it still works good, so I think you got a good quality kit.

As default said, I think zip ties will do you fine. I don't see why they wouldn't. I have my front grill held on by mostly zip ties lol, basically because im lazy to find proper hardware. But its held no problem for over a year now.

Personally I am not a fan of the underbody stuff. But if you like it that's all that matters. As loki mentioned I hope your aware its illegal to have while on public roads.

Side note how was shipping? I was considering trying a different kit for my interior. I faintly remember UPS charging something stupid.

I pretty much paid as much for shipping and transfer tax as the kit itself it was retarded 40$ shipping and 60$ fing transfer tax

And the kit comes with mounting brackets to mount to underbody to keep them on don't Ned zip ties except to secure the tube to the brackets in case of bumps and stuff

And yes I got a car jack thingie in my trunk my Mazda 3 is an 2006 model sedan.

And as for y do this mod it looks sexy why wouldn't you.

Already got my grill and floor mats to lit up (with an on off switch)

And as for them being illegal they aren't neon tubes are but LEDs aren't.

And cops don't give a shit either I had a previous old kit installed was. Cheapass POS which is y I got this kit.

And anyway I got the control unit mounted right above the 2 middle vents as well as a remoe to shut them off anyway that won't be an issue.

And it's not just the issue of raising the car so I can use the drill (or just use a 90 degree bit) I gotta align the brackes properly to

Oh I also have white led turn signal bulbs for my rear which technically are illegal but cops have never stopped me for them cause they don't care which I don't understand how there illegal anyway there's stock cars witch white led turn signals and those aren't illegal.

Here are your options

1. You're better off buying jack stands and doing it yourself with a help of a friend since it would be a great help to own a couple.
2. You pay someone to do it

There would be more answers if you post a picture of the brackets

what car can you think of comes with white LED turn signals as stock?

you're basically playing a cat and mouse game with the cops. one day you'll catch a cop that's having a bad day, and you'll get ticketed for them. but i guess it's your life and your money.

good luck getting everything mounted! :)

I've been pulled over for yellow and red signals in the rear for flashing at the same time.

Lots of mods are ticketable but driving around with underglow is the kick me sign of illegal mods.

That said, if you want to take your chances, wire it up so the controls are as close to the steering wheel as possible so you can turn them off quickly. The odd chance the cop doesn't see the light show you might get away with it lol. Personally I wouldn't take my chances on it though.

I've always wanted to do this, but I don't want to go looking for tickets if the cop was to be an ass.

You know what’s worse than underglow? Bad grammar, spelling and punctuation.... lol

You never know with cops, depends on where you live and roll around on a regular basis.

Driving on city streets with the undercar lights on - whether neon or LED - is illegal.
But so is driving with your windows tinted.
It is up to the officers discretion.

Find a curb or drive over a couple 2x4's - you dont need to get under the car - you just need to be able to see under it.
use Zip ties - its more forgiving - and you wont leave your floor pan open for future rusting issues
Wire it to a toggle switch - and when the cop pulls you over - say your knee hit it by accident and you didn't know it was on.

Underglow is making a comeback glad to hear your installing Underglow. I can loan a hand if you like. I wouldn't be quick to drill anything thou like other members have suggested.. try zip ties and even silicone. That's how I have my $14 led strips from China lol https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/1146752_10151538698850069_322029908_o.jpg
