Mobius Dash Camera Review
eBay Seller (eletoponline365)

Mobius Camera - Packaging (Mount, Mobius Camera, USB Cable, Velcro Sticky, Lens Cap, Lens Adjustment Tool)
http://i.imgur.com/Ggg5IJd.jpg
This camera is the successor to the 808 #16 key chain camera and it inherits a lot of the features.
The Mobius camera is pretty small compared to the other dash cameras.
It does 1080p at 30 FPS and 720p at 60 FPS. I haven't played much with 720p, but I have heard that it does something weird by cutting/cropping the image from 1080p to 720p.
The high bitrate for the video is about 18 megabits which is really high. A lot of dash cameras do not have a bit rate this high. I believe the BlackVue DR400G is about 10 megabits.
The exposed heatsink does get very hot when it's recording. It's been in my car during the hot summer days in the last 4 weeks. I haven't seen any issues yet.
It has a small battery which can be easily replaced. I think the eBay sellers have replacement parts, just have to message them.
I had to play around with focusing the lens using the key tool provided. Basically the tool unscrews a tiny screw allowing you to turn the lens to adjust the focus. Be careful when you unscrew because if you go too far the screw comes out and you might lose it.
For a dash camera, it has the basic needs: continuous loop recording, auto power on/off, date stamp, flip image, write protect on current video, audio on/off, different color LEDs for different statuses.
The camera took 17 days to arrive from China. I didn't have to pay custom/duty fees.
Pros:
+ Small
+ 1080p at 30 FPS
+ 18 Megabit Bitrate
+ Awesome price at $70 CAD
+ 64GB microSD - Unofficial Support
+ TV-Out - great for head units with TV-In for live display
+ Constant firmware updates/bug fixes
+ Android app for configuration: aMCA Mobius AC
+ Huge community at RCGroups forums for support/feedback
Cons:
- No GPS
- No G-Sensor or Motion Detection (Rumor: motion detection may be added in a later firmware)
- No HDMI/HD output
- No Screen - not a big deal when you can use USB OTG on an Android phone for playback and configuration
- Night time recording needs some improvements
Overall a fantastic dash camera!
Sample Clips
Below are some sample clips. I don't think I changed anything in these videos. So the firmware, configuration (HDR: On, Bitrate: High, Flipped Image: On, Timestamp: On, Loop Recording: On, Clip Length: 5mins) and focus are the same in each video.
The raw files and Youtube look almost the same, just a slight loss on Youtube.
Make sure you watch in 1080p!

Windshield Mount
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Windshield-Mini-Tape-Mount-Holder-for-Mobius-Action-Sports-Camera-/161054762107?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
http://i.imgur.com/A5jlSJB.jpg
It's just a standard mount with 3M tape. The angle can be adjusted and keeps it in place. The camera spins on and gets tighten by the smaller "disc".
The only issue I have is that if you're trying to eject the microSD or touching the camera, you may turn the camera left or right a bit because of the spin on.
There is a suction mount available, but I don't think it's as stable and you have to re-aim the camera every time.
12V USB Charger
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Mini-USB-Car-Charger-Adapter-for-Media-Player-Cell-Phone-iPhone-Ipod-/180942478506?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
http://i.imgur.com/68e2Fkbh.jpg
It's recommended to get the charger from the eBay seller. It needs to be 12V/1A.
If you plan to have it wired to your car, you will need this.
I didn't realize I needed it until I contacted Lockdown Security for installation. Luckily I found a very similar one at First Markham Place for $5.
TV-Out Cable
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TV-Out-Cable-for-Mobius-ActionCam-Sports-Camera-/181166013424?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
http://i.imgur.com/78UZjaG.jpg
I actually got this as a free gift from the eBay seller.
This cable can be used on a TV or a head unit that has TV-In to view live video or to playback pictures or video by using the buttons on the camera.
I think this would work really well with the Eonon D5151 or similar. The only downside is that the video is SD only. It would be great to have HD output via HDMI.
Installed by Lockdown Security
http://i.imgur.com/HIacKpGh.jpg
I got my dash camera professionally installed by Lockdown Security for $25. I brought the camera, the windshield mount, the 12V USB, 15ft USB to mini-B USB cable and my car to Lockdown Security.
It was connected so that it wouldn't occupy my 2 existing 12V ports and it would only turn on when the car is on.
I was in and out in 30 mins. The wire was tucked nicely and the camera didn't obstruct my view. Thanks again to Brian@Lockdown Security.

64GB is actually officially unsupported. 32GB is the maximum officially supported size.
If you have a 32GB or less microSD, it will be formatted to FAT32.
If you have a 64GB microSD, it will be formatted to exFAT.
Many others and I have no issues with the Kingston 64GB microSDXC Class 10. There may be other brands that work, but I stuck with Kingston because others have tried it.
64GB will get you about 8 hours of 1080p recording with HDR on and sound.
Class 4 and 6 would also work, just slower copying files from your microSD to your PC.

Standard USB cable. It's the same cable used for PS3 controllers and many other devices.
I provided this cable for Lockdown Security to install. It's too long, but it's tucked away. I think a 10ft cable will do.
OTG USB Cable for Nexus 4
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-USB-Host-OTG-Cable-With-USB-power-For-i9100-S3-i9300-S4-i9500-N5100-N7100-/171044965475?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cables_Adapters&hash=item27d3130c63
http://i.imgur.com/5LmdPow.jpg
For those with Android phones, you can plug a USB microSD reader to playback the video on your phone.
If your device supports USB OTG, then you don't need this cable. You will need a different cable, a micro USB OTG cable without power. It should have micro USB on one end and a USB on the other.
I have a Nexus 4 and by design, it needs external power to be able to read the USB device. So this cable has 3 ends: USB, micro USB male and micro USB female.
First plug in your microSD USB reader and then plug the external power micro USB male end into the USB OTG micro USB female end. Finally plug the USB OTG micro USB male into your phone.
If everything works, you can use any file manager to view/play your files in /storage/usbdisk0.
Note: For Nexus 4 you will need to be rooted to install Ziddey's USB OTG Kernel.

MX Player (Pro)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.pro
This Android app will play the .MOV videos. I did run into an issue with no sound. To get sound working, I had to change the setting to S/W and then back to H/W in the app.
Video playback on my Nexus 4 looks amazing. The colors really pop out. It's way better than using the TV-Out cable.
aMCA Mobius AC
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=therau2000.amcamobiusac
This Android app is used to modify your camera's configuration without your PC. You will need the USB OTG cable.
I haven't used this app. I still couldn't get it to work. I have to play around with it a bit more since it's been updated.
ExtCam Mobius AC HD
This Android app isn't available yet. It's used to connect your camera to your phone and use it as a web camera or to aim you camera in the car.
There is a defect opened against the DSP chip manufacturer. It is unknown if and when this will be fixed.
AMCap

I use this PC app to aim my camera with my laptop. I think you can use any web camera application.
Manual/Firmware
http://www.mytempfiles.info/mobius/index.html
There are updates every month or so for bug fixes and tweaks.
Updating is really easy. The software automatically checks for new versions. You plug your camera in, follow the easy instructions and it's updated in 30 seconds.
The developer works really hard and listens to people's feedback on the RCGroup forums. There's a pretty big community for this camera.
