Car clipped it and bounced right in front of me.

Had no way to avoid it so jammed brakes to slow the impact.

After being dragged ended up in wheel well so fender liner is toast.

Always have zip ties in your car as had to tie back liner that was hanging down.

Black marking is melted rubber. Goo gone does nothing.

Deductible $500

Need to see if collision or comprehensive.

Clip molded into cover snapped so to repair entire cover replaced.

Bumper cover $250
Paint $300
Clear Bra $350
Liner $62
New Plates $10
Plate holder $20

I would just leave it until you sell the car or trade it in.

try an eraser for those black marks. goo gone acts like a lube so theres no friction to rub it off. spray some water on it and rub with an eraser and see if that helps

I've used WD40 to get tar off the paint, might work on rubber. Otherwise, might want to try this http://www.mothers.com/02_products/09224.html

Bug and tar removed. spray and let sit for 5-10 mins then use dish soap as your cleaning agent and use a soft cloth to remove. This should take the tread off.

Tried it. Did nothing but remove the bugs.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser?

Don't do it! It's will harm the clear coat with fine scratches, maybe even the paint if you're not lucky. Quite abrasive.

I dont know if you would want to do this on paint, but to remove tire thread marks on stamped concrete you can use brake cleaner and it comes off with little effort. Its up to you if you would want to try. But if you are going to have to paint it anyways, it might just be worth it.

Mineral spirits should do the trick.

Brake clean eats away paint like nothin else

Its good for everything else...kills bee's mid flight...salt stains on carpet....but paint not so much

Guys thanks for the input but as title says the marks are on the Clear Bra cover.

So I will try a dab of this or that on it. If all fails probably just pull of the vinyl.

harsh chemicals and abrasives are usually bad for vinyl. inconspicuous spots first! let it heat up in the sun first though. in my experiences with rubber marks is that rubber comes off with rubber LOL

Go from least aggressive to aggressive.
1. Water and apc
2. Tarminator/auto goo gone type spray
3. Clay bar
4. Compound polish with microfibre or dual action machine
5. Mineral spirits (dab it)
6. Peel it off. Lol.

Had a simliar incident in late July that smashed my front lip. Road gator appeared underneath a SUV. It was either kill the motorcyclist besides me by suddenly swerving around it or give the road gator a punt. My front lip (semi-attached) dragged underneath my car as I pulled on to the shoulder. Could have been worse. Still need to find the time to buy a new lip and get it painted.

Good luck fixing the problem. Try Klasse AIO? I love that stuff.
