Prior to purchasing my CX-5 I did a ton of research and I ended up signing up for carcost canada in the process. By doing so I was put directly in contact with someone from MOT. I went in last weekend and after test driving the car I was sold. I ended up getting the car just below cost with 0% financing. Negotiating was really quick and easy due to the paperwork from carcost canada. I told the salesman I wanted a White 2014 CX-5 GS AWD and I need to have it by Aug 31 because my old car needs a driveclean test done and I would rather avoid the expense. He said that wouldn't be an issue so we sealed the deal.

A few days later I got a phone call from him saying that he managed to find a car but it had to be transported from another dealership so it would have 700KM's on it. After doing a bit of calling around I found out that the car he was trying to sell me was actually a demo car from another dealership in Woodbridge. The funny part is that I wouldn't mind purchasing a demo car but I would certainly expect a discount on it due to the mileage. At that point I was told that I would have to pay $300 if I wanted a "new" car because it would have to be transported and it would take a few days. After waiting on it for a day or two I called back the dealership and I told them that either they cover the cost or I'm walking out on the sale. As you can imagine they said they would absorb the cost. I'm still waiting on the delivery of my car but they only have another week to get it or the deal is off (we have a clause in the contract).

My question is why wouldn't they check to make sure they could get the car in stock before making the deal? It would have saved me a huge headache. During the process of this I contacted a few other dealerships including the one that has the demo car they tried selling me as well as a dealership that was willing to sell me the GT model of the CX-5 for $1000 more. I truly hope that I manage to get the car next week otherwise MOD is going to have one very unsatisfied customer.

You may need something stronger than coffee.

are you referring to MOT? if so, I was under the impression that they always had a large stock of vehicles. Since they make money on the amount of cars they push out the door.

Personally, I would call them back, to check up on the status of your order. It is strange to me having to wait so long.

Also if this deal falls through, talk to Jeff who also works at MOT. He has a lot of customer satisfaction, gives good deals, and a lot of people looking to buy Mazda 3's go to him.

LOL.. I'm glad I could make your morning better :P auto correct screwed me over yet again..
Apparently the White 2014 CX-5 GS AWD is extremely difficult to get.
Thankfully I just got a email from them saying that I should be able to pickup the car on Tuesday.

Can anyone suggest somewhere to get reasonable pricing on the OEM parts?
I'm looking to purchase a rubber cargo mat and privacy cover for the trunk.

Become an "official TM3 member" and get some TM3 decals or licence plate covers and get the TM3 discount at Affiliate dealerships for such things as cargo mats and parts. PM SFW for decals and plate covers. Call affiliate dealerships' parts dept. for TM3 discount and pricing.

Prima Mazda, Whitby Mazda, and MOT all offer a discount for TM3 members that I have experienced receiving. I like the way Prima is right now, and the customer service is quite good.

Here is a quick update...

I'm happy to say I picked up my 2014 CX-5 GS last night. After a quick inspection I noticed some yellow gunk on the bottom of the interior doors/trunk. I asked the salesman about it and he said it was normal and because of the rust proofing procedure they did. It looks absolutely terrible and I spent a few minutes trying to clean it off when I got home. I had some luck with the side doors, but I didn't even attempt to clean off the trunk. Here are a few photos of the mess..

To add to my frustration they also forgot to etch on the security information onto the vehicle. I decided to take in the car this morning while on my lunch break at work because I wanted to get this taken care of ASAP. I asked them to clean up the gunk on the interior doors/trunk of the car, etch the security information and take a look at the driver side window because I noticed it was shaking like crazy when I was driving on the highway.

I picked it up later this afternoon to find out that they didn't clean the interior doors or trunk what so ever. They did however clean the outside of the car which was perfectly clean to begin with... I was told the driver side window is perfectly fine, but the service advisor wasn't actually sure if they fixed the mirror. I suppose I will find out for sure tomorrow on my way to work. As you can imagine I was pretty frustrated and now I have to bring the car back again on Saturday. I must admit the service advisor was very apologetic, but sadly that doesn't change the fact that I have to take my brand new car back again. I'm pretty disappointed with my experience at Mazda of Toronto so far.. I do hope they manage to sort all of this out quickly so I can get to enjoying my new car.

Mazda of Toronto is becoming a bit of a joke for me...no offense jeff the biz.

Was in months ago and was told we cant service your car because we do not have a lift that can accommodate your skirt package. I explained it was ok and I will go back to westowne for my regular service. They called me two weeks later to inform me that my car was due for service. I asked them to remove all my information as a result of being unable to work on my car. They confirm all info is removed. They call me back last week to inform me I am do for my 45,000km service. I ask how they got my info as I previously asked to have it removed. Employee could not provide a reason. We then confirm that my information has officially been removed out of their data base.
Well phone rings again yesterday informing me that I am still due for my 45,000km service. I finally lost it and asked them to please stop calling me.

As to not thread crap completely, I can understand your frustration with MOT. Ive been there!

Anyone wanna make bets that I will receive another call by end of next week? haha

I'll take that bet... as none of those calls originate from the dealer..

almost every dealer has an outside company that calls to book appts..

Sorry about your frustration.. I feel your pain..

Keep the rust proofing on there..

Why would you want to remove something that people pay $$$ for?
Its worth having.

Also, you used Car Cost Canada.
You know if you walk into a dealership and ask to see the invoice, they must by law provide you a look?
Free!
Then you negotiate from there.

MOT wanting to charge you $300 is absolutely acceptable when you are requesting a car for as you said, below cost.

700km is not considered a demo; far from it.
Perhaps a vehicle for test drives.

Good luck with the new car and welcome to the board.

Sigh... well I have mixed reviews after this latest service done by MOT.

My car somehow got approved for the rust warranty on its left rear fender. I dropped the car off tuesday night, and got a rental. All fine and dandy. They promised me the car within 2-3 days. Its Friday now, I call to see how the service is going on my car. Im surprised to hear that my car is actually going to be ready at 5:00 PM. The time of the call was 3:30 ish. I get a call back 10 minutes later saying my car is ready, unfortunately though with the traffic there's no way I could have actually gone to make it on time to pick up the car, which isn't there fault, but I have the strong suspicion that my car just didn't magically happen to be ready 10 minutes after I called them... LOL. I am also notified at this point that one of my left rear taillights are burnt out. I decline the taillight replacement saying I'll just take care of it myself. Saturday morning now. I go to MOT, pick up my car key, walk to my car and.......... NOTHING. My car is dead. I manually open the door to notice that my lights were left on.... I go back inside and get them to give me a boost. Car starts, thankfully. I get the person I was with to stand behind the car, and guess what? MY LIGHTS WORK LOL. WOW. Totally weird experience, but Im happy my rust is taken care of.

Pros:
- Took my car right away
- Got a rental for me quick
Cons:
- Lights left on, killed my car battery
- Fake taillight issue
- Highly suspicious of the actual ready time of the vehicle.
