For people who have either of these as DRL/HB has anyone had any issues? Does anyone here run these with a harness? I know they run @ stock 9005 wattage @ 65w and most people who have had issues with them melting things have them in their fogs. Either way just wondering if it'd be worth it to go the extra for peace of mind with a harness. I've asked kelvin(sp3GT) before and I know its not really needed but either way just wondering if anyone has had issues with either of thes bulbs.

For what its worth, I've been running the PIAA Ion Yellow H8 and H11 on my '10 MS3's DRL and Fogs with zero issues.
Ironically, I had the hazing issue on my housing when I was only running OEM bulbs ... once the Dealer replaced both housings with new ones under warranty, that's when I switched to the PIAA's and now its been well over a year with em and zero issues!!

I believe the PIAA's run more wattage than the OEMs too.

Yes they're expensive compared to Nokya, but never had a failure with em ... even when I ran other PIAA bulbs on my previous cars, so I don't have to deal with replacing them as often as with other manufacturers ... my bro-in-law had to replace his Nokya DRL's twice in less than a year.

No Issues, been running Nokya bulbs as DRL for 2 years. They are a bith to get in and out though. I think i've goot 9005 and man is it a bitch to get that connector in and out.

Mine Nokyas as DRL has been fine for 3 years now. I rarely use the high beam though.

Thanks for the input. I had looked up PIAA's but the price really is the main thing that turned me away.

In regards to the Nokya's my main issue was if they would melt anything but it seems using them as DRL there isnt an issue. Better to be safe and check first though. Most people seem to have problems with them only when using it as fogs and when they leave them on when the vehicle isnt moving it seems to cause melting.

I had some in my lowbeams for a couple weeks. They were good. I lost a fog one though after a year-ish.

My 07 ran yellow Nokya DRLs for over 5 years with zero issues; never had to change the bulbs once.
My 10 ran yellows for 3 months, which ended up with part of the headlight assembly melting (was an issue as I used the wrong stage)

I had kokya yellows in my head and fogs and i had no issues with melting or anything like that. Only thing i had a problem with is the bulb exploding once and burning out the filament before i went hid.
