So I got a good deal on Kinect battery and my question is can I replace the stock bat with this one without having to have to upgrade alternator?

Those batteries are not meant for main battery for cars. They are power cells meant for high power stereos.

I have one of the smaller ones in my car (600 I believe) hooked up as a second battery. And its amazing how much it helps. But if the one you have is the size of a regular battery. There's no way you need that unless your back seat and trunk is all sub's speakers and amps

Oh crap didn't know that lol.I was getting ready to replace my main battery with the Kinetik good thing I haven't yet. I got the kinetik hc1400 for free which is a very good deal and i might as well use it cause my lights are dimming when i crank up the volume. Will have to watch a few YouTube vids on how to install this. Will the stock alternator be ok with this battery in the back?

Thanks for your input and bare with me cause im still learning.

Nothing major really just 1 12" alpine swr-12d4 in a ported box tuned to 36 hertz,Hilfonics brutus 1206d amp and a jvc single din head unit. I have the Sub wired to 2 ohm load and the amp is only 1000 w rms so my sub is really not powered fully. The sub is rated at 1000w rms and 3000 peak. But im in the proces of trying to find an amp that can feed the sub 1000 w rms at 2 ohms so the battery will come in handy when i do.

free is always a good deal haha

just put it in the trunk with the stereo. make sure its secure and wont move and cover the + and - poles. and with something that big, i would get an isolator. that way, your alternator will charge the power cell, but the power cell wont power the car, it will only power the stereo.

The bigger Kinetic cells can be used to run the car, but it would have to be a a large one, like the 1600 or above.

I've got the Smaller hc600 'cap killer'. The small ones discharge faster than caps, so you'd definitely see an improvement in your application by having one in the trunk, but I wouldn't generally recommend them for daily driving starter duty.

Just wanted to thank every one that jumped in to help me..managed to install the Kinekt also moved things around for a cleaner look as well.Mounted the amp on the back seat and tidy up the wires so it doesn't look like a mess.I can definitely see an improvement and don't get the headlights flicker when cranking up volume past 20 not that i drive around listening to music at that volume but im a perfectionist and want my stuff to work good.its much more loud than before and next on the list is to get my hands on a better amp so stay tuned.

Thank you guys much appreciated!
