Hey guys just curious, Ive noticed that my rear defroster is taking a extremely long time to heat up, and its not even winter yet, just trying to kill the early morning frost. Its a 2013 Mazda 3. Is any1 else having this issue ? Havent contacted the dealer yet, but I might do that soon based off any of the information this lovely community has to offer :D. Thanx guys!

try testing your battery maybe?? if its cold enough for there to be frost out, its probably cold enough to effect battery performance. although batteries are made to withstand pretty cold climates, low performing or weak batteries could suffer more from the cold than others.

when i switched my battery out about a month ago, i did notice the defroster working a bit quicker. get your battery checked at a partsource to see what condition your battery is in.

I don't understand how the battery can affect the defroster, it runs off the alternator. If you are taking about defogging the rear glass, that takes a lot longer than melting frost. We have not had any frost.

Do you have tint. Sometimes tint film also affect it depending on the type or thickness of the film.
Can you tell roughly how many minutes it takes.

well its more of a moisture thing, its taking longer than 10 minutes to start to look like its going away, but its not that cold out like u guys said, my old car never really behaved this way
