Hey Guys

I'm just looking for some suggestions from you smart people. I don't know too much about cars, I'm more of a computer guy.

I have a 2006 Mazda 3 2.3 L iSedan

Basically what happened was that the tail pipe to my exhaust has completely rusted off and its just dangling there. Pictures follows:

I am a poor college student and was wondering if you guys could tell me an easy fix/cost effective? Do you think someone would be able to weld it back on for me or is it too rusted? Or am I going to have to shell out the dough and get a whole new muffler and tail pipe. If that is the case how much do you think it would cost?

Thanks in advance!

Steve

It is a bit difficult spot or else you could have used exhaust repair tape or cheap guy soda can repair.

That is weldable. Any exhaust shop would be able to clean and weld it for cheap.

Or you can grab exhaust repair putty and seal it. Clean it with wire brush and seal it.

Exactly what he said.
This could be as cheap as buying a wire brush and jb weld putty and calling it a day.

If you're not a diy type guy bring it to an exhaust shop or try Jimmy at Street Performance. He's a mechanic with excellent welding skills. Call him and I'm sure he can weld that at a good price.

Here's his shop review thread:
