Not sure if I'm allowed to post this, Mods please remove if this isn't allowed. we've helped organize blood drives, so I figured Adoption/fostering would be similar :-)

I've been fostering dogs off and on for over 4 years now - its super rewarding.

If any of you guys are/were dog people, and are looking to do a good deed... Foster.

I foster through UglyMutts. (www.uglymutts.com)

My Current foster is up for adoption:

if you have any questions, let me know and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.

I'm not ready for a dog right now, but If you foster a dog, and really fall for it... you can adopt it if you wish - Its almost a "try before you buy" AND you get to save a life regardless.

So those of you who are looking for a dog, and/or want to save a life - Sign up to be a foster! All the details on the website.

And of course, if you're just looking for a dog to adopt - All our dogs have lived in homes with fosters - Not as "unknown" as dogs are directly from the pound. All of the dogs have been within weeks of the big sleep - we do a run once a month to rescue dogs from kill shelters in the states. We also spay/neuter all dogs that come through us as well.

Just in case anyone is looking!

Kudos to you for fostering these dogs. They deserve a second chance. I'd adopted a rescue dog in a heartbeat.

My office has fostered two cats recently, and is likely to take on either another cat or dog in the near future.

Sounds like a great program, good on you for helping out these animals in need!

My parents adopted a rescue dog a few years ago from a program called Moosonee Puppy Rescue (http://www.moosoneepuppyrescue.com/), which rescues dogs from the James Bay area of Ontario and brings them to a farm in Bracebridge where they can be adopted. The dogs would be otherwise be shot for the $60 bounty put on strays. The dog they got was amazing, great temperament and very happy to have a home.

Hey jonjon72,

If you think it'd be a good fit, fill out an adoption form on the website and put that dogs name/ID on the form as well - If an adoption is not already in the works they'll e-mail/call you back to go see the dog and figure out if its a good fit (both ways - You for the dog, and the dog for you)
