People don't seem to understand what a turning lane is for. My father had his license plate side-swiped off his car by the same type of idiot who drive down the wrong side of the road, trying to by-pass traffic. (Insurance said his was 50/50, because he was turning at an intersection, even though the other person was driving down the wrong side of the road. Just FYI.)

it is a cheap efficient mass produced car and from what I hear fairly reliable...however the beige is basically gold...and this is seen by many cultures a prestigious color...thus many immigrants (not a racist comment at all just fact) come fresh from whatever country they came from, and may not fully understand the rules of our roads, or our culture, or any sort of common courtesy, and it makes them feel prestigious by owning a "gold car"...this is also a similar cause for why the left lane is always full of people. (I had an Chinese friend tell me his parents were taught by their driving instructor when they came to Canada that the passing lane aka"fast lane" was the prestigious lane, and that they should merge over to it immediately after getting on the highway, and stay there till they get off) I couldn't believe that this is what some people are being taught when they come here.

It is no wonder our roads are so crazy.

To be honest, I think a majority of immigrants understand the rules of the road but they just don't care. They're selfish drivers.

Too many idiot people slamming their brakes because the crosswalk counter starts flashing, or because a bus starts merging out of a pickup zone.

Just drive people. No need to take 2 city blocks to accelerate to 59km/h. Floor that bitch and get outta my way.

If people want to hog the left lane - then go around them and give them the finger while laying on that horn as you pass them. Just don't sit there and let the right lane get blocked up too.

My father's situation was different. He was leaving the building to turn left. The 2 lanes were completely occupied but they were good enough to not block the driveway. My father creeped out slowly to turn left, when an idiot going down the wrong side of the road came and took off his front license plate. The guy even tried to leave until a witness blocked him. Even with the witness, the insurance said that because he was turning and entering the main road from a driveway, it's 50/50. I would have probably argued it (one doing something perfectly legal, the other one being perfectly illegal) but it wasn't me.

its really sad because whenever someone gets married over there... majority of the time the bride and groom get chaffeured in a corolla or a civic after the wedding.

not everyone is rich, wants a sports car or is a car enthusiasts. its a honda/toyota, its reliable, its cheap, its a car and it works. to some people, having a car isnt a social status symbol for how successful they are.

also, the camry's V6 (old and new) is a very capable engine to modify and can become a surprisingly fast car. reason why nobody does it is because its a camry. all depends on how much money you want to pour in.

Well, I figured I had scared them enough when I saw the front passenger scream and cover her face when I came up the other way (I wasn't exactly slow on the approach.). I could have really nudged in close to completely block her in. I could have sat on the horn with my high beams on. I was in a hurry though, so I didn't.

BTW, I drove a rental Camry for a few days, and now I'm perfectly clear why it's such a successful car; it doesn't do anything particularly well, but it doesn't do anything poorly either. It's a relatively cheap, comfortable, and efficient way to get from point A to B. I assume the Corolla is the same.

(That said, the one "friend" I have whom I refuse to get into a car with because she's crazy... she drives a Corolla.)

Most people who can afford modding one would rather just spend ( atleast i hope) the money on a better car ( im talking about the old ones you were reffering to). there use to be quite a sleeper crowd in toronto and the GTA. theres still people running beaten up cars with a stupid amount of power. its just a way of getting there kicks without drawing too much attention from the law. you dont expect a street race from a camry LOL and easy to blend in if there ever was trouble.
