Hey TM3,
Need some help here, I've been having this problem for a while now and cannot figure out what it exactly is. My Mazda 3, when heated up has Shaking, Jerking, Rumbling, Lower Revs at stops. Now the car doesn't stall nor anything major problems its just very very annoying:bang and it has automatic transmission( just for clarification).
When I looked up on different sites it states it can be the Evap/Purge Solenoid Valve? Now I need verification if this is it and if it is how can i clean it without replacing it
NOTE: last thing I want to do is to go to a mechanic, I have the right tools and whatnot in my garage, and id rather clean or use steps to narrow the problem before replacing.
Thanks TM3 for your help and looking forward to a solution :)
Did you install a new intake? do you use a K&N filter (sometimes your MAF sensor gets a bit of oil on it from oiled filters)? could be an O2 sensor, timing might be off (not so likely), and maybe ignition coils.
Do you have an engine light?

I've noticed the same thing ever since I installed my Corksport SRI.

Thanks for the reply, but no; there is no aftermarket intake just the stock one, as well there is no engine light.
i also doubt its a timing issue since there is only 80k on it. I'm kinda still stuck on the fact it could be the Solenoid Valve, have you ever cleaned one ?
Ive also seen on other forums people cleaning the MAF sensor and say it very delicate or whatnot, im just trying to narrow it down to start from somewhere without ripping apart a lot of things
Thanks again and Regards

Start with cleaning the throttle plate and body, followed by disconnecting the battery to reset the ECU and throttle opening presets. Dirt definitely affects idle in our engines.

Ive also seen on other forums people cleaning the MAF sensor and say it very delicate or whatnot, im just trying to narrow it down to start from somewhere without ripping apart a lot of things I just did it on my car, very easy to do. Also will do the throttle body cleaning soon. I'd try that and see if anything changes.
I've noticed the same thing ever since I installed my Corksport SRI. hmm I was set on ordering one this coming week.

This issue is NOT caused by a malfunctioning purge solenoid. When the purge solenoid fails, it wont hold vacuum, engine light comes on for p0442 I believe. Also sometimes p0441 or p0455.
More than likely it needs a tune up, throttle body cleaning. Also try cleaning the MAF sensor, DO NOT TOUCH IT, use a delicate cleaner on it like electrical contact cleaner.
Also when bottom transaxle mount fills with dirt and rocks it causes a massive vibration, rumbling noise.

okay well thanks again guys for your advice, my first priority would be to clean the throttle body since I wanted to do it for a while now.
Since MazdaMike02 had said it cannot be from the purge solenoid valve, I will want to check out the transaxle mount but, I doubt it would be caused from dirt build up so my next step would be cleaning the MAF sensor.
Do any of you guys know any good tuts to clean the MAF and Throttle body and even how to check if the Transaxle mount if it is causing the problem? would be much appreciated. Thanks Again Guys

Hey guys just wanted to say that this problem is now fixed. after taking off the throttle body I seen all the caked up deposits on the blade and inside the body itsself . I used some kind of intake medic sprat from part source sprayed the inside of the throttle body, let it soak and then rubbed it off with a rag. now it looks good as new, put it all back together let it dry for a bit and then started it up letting it idle to operating temperature then took it on the highway to clean out the system by gunning it. when I arrive at a stop sign no more rumbling. Great Success

Just make sure you stay on top of servicing your TB lol theyre very expensive from Mazda and aftermarket you DO NOT want to have to replace it.
