Hey guys,

Next summer is gonna mean new wheels and tires for me and I'm having a really hard time deciding. I've narrowed it do to either 18x7.5 or 18x8. The colour of my car is Galaxy Grey Mica and I've managed to matte black the emblems, grill, sharkfin, tail lights and a few other small things on the car so I want to go with a matte black finish to finish off the whole two toned approach. I have a few options that I've been thinking of and I'd appreciate some feedback from everyone. Here are the choices;

Let me know what you guys think! I wouldnt be opposed to suggestions of other rims with similar styles too:)

Thanks!

I see a trend; lot's of threads like these are going to be popping up it seems lol

You might also want to mention if you're lowered or not, and if so, what you're lowered on. Wheel choice, fitment, and looks heavily depend on how the car sits, in my opinion. But most of those rims you've selected look pretty decent. Aside from the TSW ones, which to me, just seem a little too simple/almost stock looking.

Good point man, I'm lowered on Tein S-Techs

I definitely agree with you. I've seen a couple pics of cars with wide 5 spoke rims that look really cool (can't think of anyones username at the moment, I believe its a red mz3 gen2 thats lowered almost right to the ground). The style is the top of the spoke runs flush with the wheel (similar to the Panorama) but the centre part is repressed slightly (similar to the Kojin). If anyone knows of any other rims like this i'd live to hear a suggestion.

I voted for the Kojin.

I voted for kojin also. They resemble te37 which is my favorite and definitely my next rims. Go for 8 instead of 7.5 rims to avoid use of spacers and stretch 215 tires on it for a proper flush look.

Something about those TSW's is straight badass. Those get my vote

Thanks for the input everyone! Now if only I could go somewhere that had all these wheels with a tire around them so I could throw them beside the car and get a better idea of how its gonna look lol pictures just can't do them justice.

Keep the feedback coming guys its much appreciated:thumbsup

keep in mind with our offset you won't get that awesome look where the mount point is in further than the edge of the rim. (check the offset of #4 and #3)

They offer a +40 and a +50 offset, this should be ok right?

I believe so. I think 45-48 is the sweetspot, but a +50 might cause rubbing with an 8 inch rim. Might have to roll the fenders. There are others on this forum who have way more experience/knowledge in this (where as I have none...)

+40 is perfect.

+40 is perfect.

For front and rear? I should still probably roll the fenders with these wheel dimensions correct?

18x8 +40 will be fine all around. The front will be a little tight depending on the tires, rear you should have no issues.

For example, I had 18x8 +45mm on my '07 sedan for a couple of years. No rubbing front or rear. Probably an easy 5mm of space on the rear though so I think you'll be fine.

Plus the rears on 1st gen sedans are simple to roll if needed.

The front is what I'm worried about. With the Tein S-techs the drop is a decent amount lower at the front compared to the back, and the setup i have now looks tight and thats with 205/55R16's on. No rubbing with that setup however. What were your tire dimensions with your setup?

I had 205/45R18 I believe.

It's looking like it might come down to a money issue at this point. The TSW's are roughly $280 a pop, the Kojin are ~$225, and the MR121 and M52 are about $180 a wheel. I'm thinking of either 225/40/18 or 215/45/18 tires and if I have to roll the fenders ill do that. I definitely don't want the tires to look stretched, I dont think they will at these dimensions?

On 8" wheels neither of those will look stretched.

Haha sweet! I've been considering keeping the wheels i have now and putting winter tires on them but its just gonna make the new wheel and tire purchase that much more daunting
