This morning, I noticed that when idling at a stop or a parking lot and I'm in "D" and my foot is on the brakes, I can feel a vibration in the cabin. The vibration stops when I shift into "N".
Another test that I have done: I pulled my e-brake and re-did the test above (going from N to D and vice-versa) but this time, I do not touch the brake pedal. To my surprise, there is absolutely no vibration ... :bang It vibrates only if I'm in "D" AND I'm stepping on the brakes.
Any inputs? I don't wanna start buying blindly parts unless I'm 100% sure of the culprit.
P.S. When the vibration is felt in the cabin, I went to see under the hood and the engine also vibrating a lot ...

have you replaced a mount before? did you check the passenger side mount to see if it was cracked, torn or otherwise. had play and what not. did you take the car to a tech to be inspected to be sure before you guess and start throwing parts at it...?

Did you turn your defroster on this morning?

Speaking of shot pax engine mounts, has anyone with an auto tranny noticed vibrations while driving between 90-120KM/H? It's doing it on a friend's car. I think it's the mount, but noone else has mentioned vibrations while the car is moving.

If you search mazda 3 vibration at highway speeds you will find hundreds of threads about that and even 2 mazda service bulletins.
But chances are it is either the #3 or 4 engine mount or unbalanced tires

Nope. I turned off the HVAC and still does it. However, the vibration goes away after 1.5 hours of driving. Only after the first 20-25 minutes of starting the car up it shakes. Internals fluids being cold(engine oil, ATF and power steering) causes this ?

Found this thread and I'm getting similar issues... no matter the distance, when coming to a stop, the engine vibrates the car quite a bit.. My passenger motor mount was replaced last season, so maybe this could be another motor mount to replace?

If you look up the TSB for the engine mount, It says if the mount is replaced it will get rid of the vibration on the highway but will increase the vibration at idle.
That could be your problem.

Did you replaced it with an OEM motor mount or did you go aftermarket?

This happens to my 2013 Mazda 3 2.0. Jimmy says my mounts are fine, and I'm pretty sure my tires are balance. I have almost given up on finding a solution...

"pretty sure" your tires are balanced? How do you know? Go to one of the tire sponsors and get them to check the balance and run out of the rubber and rims. Also, keep in mind the roads are in terrible condition these days and that can throw things off as well.
If your tires and rims check out, you may have to rotate to see if that reduces/removes the problem.
How are your brakes? Do you get any pulsations when applying them?

Have you checked the transmission mount on the drivers side under the battery box?

The reason I say pretty sure is that I dealt with all this last winter into summer. Things may have changed. But your right I should get it done again soon. I don't get any pulsation in my brakes. I may rotate them when I get them checked again. I will let you know. Happens on winter and summer rims/tires
