Hey everyone i have a 2010 Mazda3 sedan (automatic). Since last 2 months my car has been making a grinding noise only when i reverse it out of my garage in the morning and it only happens few times a month. Its the same sound that you can hear after washing a car. I'll try to record the sound when i can. So what could be the reason? I am really worried. thx

Rust on the rotors? :S
Thx for replying I do see rust on rotors quite a lot. So wht is the fix? Is everyone facing the same problem? Should i just ignore this?
Also i can hear it everyone morning now so its more frequent but its always in the morning when i am backing out of my garage.
Heres the sound i recording from my iphone: https://soundcloud.com/kingjames786/mazda3-weird-sound

yup thats rotors. its totally normal to have rust on the rotor over night in a moist environment. just drive as you normally do and the pads will scrape off the rust and clean the rotors.
some people have linked the sound to being train like in reverse.
