I got the AVH-X5500BHS from Crutchfield and they sent me the harness Metra 70-7903 there are a couple issues I need help:

The harness has orange cable but the pioneer has orange/white (no orange) .... do I connect the two? or just leave them be?
The harness has no steering wheel controls. I purchased another harness and I will be borrowing the two pins from there - 1P / 1N for the axxess - I will be putting them in Pin 12/13 - one connects to axxess white/green and the other to ground seems right?
How can I replace my lighter socket with the usb female adapter?
I have no amp so I can leave the blue/white alone?
The blue for the power antena I do not think I have one.... do we? and again just leave alone?

I will be soldering and heat shrink to get the best connection possible but it seems like the ground wire will have 3 or 4 how do you shrink wrap that many wires if soldering.

I have watched many youtube videos but cannot find one specific to my car.

Thanks for all the help much appreciated.

Let see if I can give you a hand. Just did a HU install plus Axxess a few months ago.

1. yes your o/w goes to the orange wire - both are for the auto dimming. unless you don't want the HU to use your cars dimming feature then don't connect it. the HU will stay on full bright all the time, or whatever setting you choose inside the HU itself.
2. that sounds right, I would need to look at the axxess info to be sure.
3. the lighter socket can be removed from the inside, remove the console unplug it and push it up and through. after that you would need to get creative to mount the USB plug inside it.
4. yes tape up the B/W wire
5. Same for this. tape it up.

Hope this helps.

i recently dealt with the Metra harness for my tablet install. Instead of just looking for matching colours, you should be focusing more on what they're labelled as. read what pioneer mapped their wires as and match them with the metra wires are. I think some of the colours may be off
1) again, you'd have to check the labelling

2) Not sure how Axxess is labelled, but i was using a JoyconEXR and it was labelled as Data1 and Data2
http://imageshack.us/a/img4/6282/osfl.jpg
i would assume the wire i used here for "black on joycon" is the your ground... and the other wire was your positive

3) do you have a link to the USB adapter you were thinking off? because there's things like this
http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Sea-Dual-Charger-Socket/dp/B0082CXEI8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384455203&sr=8-1&keywords=USB+car+socket

if you look at the back in one of the pictures it has the connector leafs just like the cigarette lighter. i'd imagine it's just a matter of unclipping from the lighter and clipping to this.
the customer image showing shorting the data pins is a good idea. Your phone will think it's being charged by an a/c adapter instead of by usb (like on a computer) and charge faster

4) The blue/white wire is remote for turning your amp on and off. i believe you can leave alone, because Orange is your accessory right? or was it yellow?

5) Pretty sure power antenna is for the ones that are telescopic and go up and down, so you should be fine... You can actually relocate this one to your steering wheel pin. That's what i did, i had two pins that i wasn't using so i popped them out and relocated for my steering wheel controls

hope this helps
