So a friend of mine gave me couple of Alpine component speakers with the crossovers but no tweeters. Can this be installed on a 2007 Mazda 3 hatchback without a problem or is there lots of work involved to get them to fit.And where do you actually put this things as im kinda new to this component speaker thing. Also do i have to get tweeters as well or not.If someone can show some helpful tips maybe ill get motivated and go ahead and install them.Im in the process of installing an Alpine 4 channel amp to power my front and rear speakers as well cause the bass from my Alpine SWR-12d4 drowns out the front and rear speakers so im hoping the amp in the front will even them out a bit.

Thanks in advance!

You can use your amp for your sub to turn down the base from the sub btw.
What size are the speakers?

It's not a pile of work but there are a few things you have to take care of. If you install the main speakers ("woofers") you have now with no tweeters, you probably won't have optimal sound. They aren't designed to reproduce the high notes that would normally go to the tweeters, and if you install the crossovers the high notes will be filtered out anyway so things will sound very muddy. So you need to find a pair of tweeters - they don't necessarily have to be Alpine ones or very expensive to start with. The best place to mount them (not necessarily from a sound quality perspective, but from an easy-return-to-stock perspective) is in the door sail panels - those little triangle-shaped panels at the top front edge of the door panels. Cut a round hole for the tweeters to sit in and glue those suckers in place.

The woofers you have will be round and you'll need adapters to fit them into the oval OEM speaker holes (see my comment below). The crossovers are mounted in the doors as well. Google crossover wiring diagram to see how everything gets wired up.

If you're running an amp for the front and rear speakers, you have two options for wiring. You can run speaker wire from the amp directly to the doors, but you then have to deal with getting the wires through the door wiring plugs. Not easy. Second choice is to splice the wires into the OEM speaker wire by the head unit, which is fine for most power levels.

The size of the speakers will determine what kind of adapter you'll need to use, but from Alpine the components will either be 5 1/4" or 6.5" round. So you'll need some adapter to fit them into the 5x7" OEM speaker holes.

Hey Guys sorry for the long delay in responding here got crazy busy but just to update I gave up the ide of installing the component speakers and bought 4 of these ones..
Alpine SPS-507 Type-S 5"x7" 2-way car with built in dome tweeters. I will use an Alpine 4 channel amp to power them.
By the thanks guys for the great tips and help. I installed the speakers in the doors but they sound ok and definitely need an amp to give them some umph as they seem to lack some with out it.

Ok so those aren't components, they are called co-axials. Often they don't need external crossovers.
