Anyone have this HU installed in their 3? What are your thoughts/opinions on it? Is it worth the buy?
Have you had any issues with yours that makes you regret buying it?

Do a search and there is a 9 page thread discussing this.
PS, I am getting one soon, also look at the GM5151.
It can mirror you cell phone screen (Google maps...)

I'm looking for a fresh discussion. The other postings I found are all old.
I did look at the GM5151.. but the only difference is the screen mirroring.. I can't see myself using that all that often..
I'm pretty confidence I can get google maps to work w/o that.

I just installed the D5151U and the screen resolution, sound, UI, Ipod function all work great i just can't get the GPS to load and keep the time on the deck. It fits great in the dash and looks original

I'm guessing the U is part of a group buy?

How well does this work with the stock steering wheel controls on an 04-09 unit? The only demonstration I've ever seen on youtube just used the volume buttons which is cool I guess, but I'd love to know whether the other buttons (up/down/mode/mute) still do something useful. I have an 09, for reference.

I ended up buying the D5151 because I don't need NFC or screen sharing. I'll just throw iGO Primo onto the SD card and go from there :)
Can't wait for it to arrive.

For any one interested i just received the gm5151 last week for my wifes 08 but she doesn't like it, she likes my kenwood nav deck more, so wanted to keep the stock look that is why I bought it, so I am selling it on kijiji for $300, with USA and Canada maps.

Since we are on the topic of Eonon HU I was wondering if anyone has installed one in a 2013 as the website says 2010-2012. Ive read of one or two people doing it with no concerns. Anyone with a 2013 that has installed one? Any concerns?

OK so I installed it this morning in the freezing car :)
Impressions:
- Shipping was really quick. Literally under a week and it was at my door. Very pleased.
- Installation was kind of a pain because there's just so much stuff to fit into such a tight area. Other than that I didn't really have too many problems. I was careful to not scuff up the trim by putting a sock over the gear shifter and taping off all the trim materials.
- Overall I have to admit that I'm just not feeling it. Maybe I just got used to how the stock HU looks but I'm kind of regretting the purchase. Sure it's great to have a touchscreen and a good iPhone interface, and I was planning to throw a rear view camera in there, but to be quite frank I think I'm going to put the D5151 on craigslist in January and get some kind of iPhone adapter that plugs into the stock HU.
The D5151 is a nice head unit, just not for me. But my loss will be someone's gain at the end of the day. I'm sure someone else will be really happy with it. Just not me ;)

Zotaga I got my D5151 not too long ago (bout a month) and I am loving the thing, even with the minor hangups I had initially. Overall sound output is MUCH better than my stock HU.
