Well Ladies and Gents it's just as I posted.
Acquired a set of old steelies with next to new winter tires.

As you can see, terribly rusty...so I Went to Canadian Tire, got a can of Duplicolor Primer, Rustolium Black Gloss Paint and some initial and final stage sandpaper. All in all around $20.
No real Mazda owner would run with these so I took a wire brush to each one (bout 10 mins each) and a bit of sanding with 80 grit, then they looked like this.

Holy mole amirite. Amazing difference. Used some newspaper I had to cover my tires effectively (Lucky they were pretty deflated)

Time for the Primer Coat, didn't actually expect the aerosol cans to work so well.

Let that rest for about 30 minutes then we are on to the clear coat. 24 hour dry time and this is the final result! Looking pretty swanky.

Obviously they will rust again, I know this. But for the main duration of the winter I don't really care. Ill get them properly sandblasted for next winter.
Next to new winter tires total cost $175. Can't beat that.
