Hey guys,

Sorry for another HID thread but I can't find the answer im looking for by searching.

I bought a Lumens single beam HID conversion kit that came with bulbs, ballasts, and mounting brackets. I had it installed and everything works fine but it's not quite as bright as I thought it would be. I've heard people talk about resistors or capacitors but haven't been able to find a definite answer if I need one or the other. Can anyone tell me definitively what the configuration for an HID kit going into a 07 Mazda3 is? (ie whether i need a resistor/capacitor)

I should also mention I am running the HIDs in my projector lenses as my low beams. My DRL and high beams are in the lighting housing beside the projectors (towards the centre line of the car)

Did you buy 55w or 35w?
Did you use a relay? I believe first gen's often require a relay.

I never used any resistor or capacitor in my '07. That is only necessary for older cars with the DRLs in the low beams. What temp (K) bulbs did you buy?

I have 8000K, which i realize isnt the highest light output so if I have everything installed properly and still cant solve the problem i may swap out for a 6000K

I'm 95% sure its 35W, I'll have to confirm when I get home

As far as I know I dont have a relay, can anyone confirm if I should in fact have this?

8000k is not very bright at all. Get 4500 for best output. 6000k is usually the highest acceptable.

Though if he's going for that blue-ish look, he should go for 6000k.

No your car only requires proper HID bulbs like mentioned below. Resistors are only needed on older generation Mazda3 that use DRL for low beams. Thus preventing flicker during startup for HIDs. Making bulbs last longer.

There shouldn't be a need for a relay, I didn't use one. Either way it shouldn't affect your light output.
