hood latch problem.

I am having to slam the hood down really hard for it to become secure. Sometimes while driving the hood becomes unse ure as if I just pulled the hood latch release lever. What causes thus problem?

Maybe the coil that pulls the hook back into place is bent? Have a look, you'd see it right away if it's bent.

i had the same issue. just needed to oil the latch itself. it wasn't actually latching when i was closing the hood.

check to see if the latch can close easily. i used a stubby screwdriver to test it out.

ended up spraying a shit load of WD40 and never had issues since. that was over 6 months ago

the rubber stoppers on the radiator support maybe hard due to the cold, but the latch could also be out of adjustment... you can just loosen the couple of 10mm bolts and just move the latch up just a bit and it should fix it

sprayed wd40, becomes secure much easier now, don't have to slam hood..
