View Full Version : Sub not pounding :S
So I installed my subwoofer and amp. The install went pretty well, except for the firewall hole part which was a pain in the a$$. Everything is working but my subwoofer is not hitting hard as its supposed to, but it`s working. I tried playing with the hertz rate and still no change. Can this be caused by a bad ground ? Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks

check all of your connections. make sure that the rca's in the back of the deck and the amp are plugged the same way i.e mine are both plugged in the output.
check your settings through your deck?
check all your wires. from the power to the rca to the signal to the ground and make sure theyre all in good shape.
where and how did you ground your wire?

Wires are all fine, I grounded the wire near the spare tire area. Sanded the paint off and bolted it.

Did you wire the subwoofer to the correct resistance?

Check the phase of the wiring. It sounds like you might have the polarities, (+) and (-), reversed between the sub and amp.

THIS. It seems stupid but realistically if your subwoofer has the connection to the box completely wrong it won't sound right at all. I've done this a few times and freaked out thinking I screwed up. My bet is connection from sub to box, box to amp, or RCAs. Play with it. And if all else fails check all the settings on the amp.
Well I found out the amp wasn't powerful enough for the subwoofer. Got a better amp and I'm lovin it :headbang
