Interesting idea from spydrweb on M3F. I don't have steelies anymore, but if I did, I would probably think about trying this...

Step 1 buy some Ball canning jar lids from WalMart. "regular mouth" size.

Step 2 take the original center cap and a lid ring.

Step 3 bend back the internal metal ring to create a nice snap in spot for the old center caps.

Step 4 snap the old cap in place in the new ring.

Step 5 use pliers to unroll the metal rolled lip on the out side edge of the lid ring. This will give it some needed depth and reduce the diameter just slightly. Flare out the sharp edges a bit to create a snap in piece.

Step 6 Install finished product and enjoy oooooo fancy.
