P0780 Error Code Common?

Hello,
I took my 2012 Mazda 3 in to get looked at after the engine light, AT and traction light all came on yesterday. The error turned out to be code P0780 and had to do with a valve not opening and closing properly. This exact error code happened to my wife's 2012 Mazda 3 less than 2 months ago! Is this a common issue for that year? It will take 1 week to get the car fixed.

A quick look through google, I would not say it is overly common.


P0780 MAZDA Description:
The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the transmission mechanical shifting through various sensors. This malfunction is detected when the A/T does not shift as instructed by the TCM. This is not caused by electrical malfunction (circuits open or shorted) but by mechanical malfunction such as control valve sticking,improper solenoid valve operation, etc.
