Whats good team mazda3,

i have CEL code which turns up as :
P0328 knock sensor 1 circuit high bank 1 or single sensor

Has anybody ran into this issue before? If so, what was the exact cause of the issue?

Have a 2005 mazda 3 hatch auto. let me know your thoughts mazda3 world.

Possible causes
- Knock sensor circuit short to GND.
- Knock sensor circuit short to PWR.
- Knock sensor circuit open.
- Damaged knock sensor.
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

Possible solution
- Repair or resecure harness or connector
- Replaced knock sensor

When is the code detected?
- An excessively high voltage from the sensor is sent to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module (ECM)

P0328 Description:
The knock sensor is attached to the cylinder block. It senses engine knocking using a piezoelectric element. A knocking vibration from the cylinder block is sensed as vibrational pressure. This pressure is converted into a voltage signal and sent to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Engine Control Module (ECM).

also, what the solution/fix was to get it gone. this is my only CEL light as i've fixed 3 out of the 4 as a result of changing the purge valve, now its just this knock sensor.

thanks

i also read that on a few google searches for this. thanks for the description, really appreciate it.

you think i can do this myself? i guess i'd just need a description of how to get to the knock sensor and troubleshoot the right areas ... i jsut dont even know where to begin lol
