Hey guys, Im not sure if anyone is into sport shooting hunting or owns any firarms but I thought that everyone should know what is going on. As of Feb 26, 2014 the RCMP has reclassified a rifle that canadians have legally purchased for over 12 years from restricted and non restricted status to prohibited. This essentially means that all of the people who own these rifles are not criminals and must turn their rifles in for destruction without any compensation. These rifles were purchased for $3000-$4000 each. These rifles have NEVER been used in any crime in Canada.
Imagine, you spend $3000 (+tax) on something that you love to do, have never been in any trouble and all of a sudden one day the RCMP decide to confiscate your property or turn you into a criminal.
Now I know that there are going to be the anti-gun people who say regular citizens dont NEED guns. But know this, every day the RCMP run background checks on all PAL holders. Sport shooting is a hobby with many enthusiasts, there are over 2 million Gun owners in Canada and are the least likely to commit a crime.
Please take the time to sign the petition above and help us fight the overstepping "unelected" RCMP bureaucrats.
