View Full Version : Check Engine Light - Oxygen Sensor Malfunction

I have a 2013 Mazda 3 Sport GT, bought it new beginning of April 2013, racked up 35,000 km so far. A week or two ago, my check engine light went on, took it into the dealership and they said I had an oxygen sensor malfunction and they replaced it for free because it's still under the warranty. Last night, my check engine light went on, and I'm thinking it might be the secondary oxygen sensor that went. Is this normal for a car this new? I have friends who have had to replace their oxygen sensors but not until over 100,000 km. Then the next question would be, facing what I would consider a reliability problem, should I start considering the extended warranty? Or is there anything I should do? Input would be appreciated!

You replacing it or no? Since you drive so much did you bother getting extended warranty? Or you figured you'd do the work yourself?

I do have the extended warranty till 160km and I'm going to check its readiness once I'm Driving today and see if it's still says inactive. I think it's what's causing my rough start up. I will get it replaced if it's still acting up. The guys at the dealer ship are buddies now Sothey'll probably hook Me up

Yeah I went in before and they replaced it free of charge as long as you still have warranty. I may consider extending warranty until 160km as well now. Thanks!
