How to wash car engine room ?

I bought my 2012 Mazda 3 GS Sky 16 months ago, but I have never washed car engine room.

I did rust proofing at Krown every year.

The rust proofing material have caught a lot of dusts and sands.

I want to wash the engine room of my car. I searched internet for engine room wash..

some guys use high pressure washer and spay to engine room directly.

I am not sure it is the best way to clean and wash car engine room.

High pressure water would damage to my car.

I would appreciate it if you could inform me how to wash engine room.

go to Canadian Tire and buy Engine Shampoo. (white bottle, orange cap)

spray it over everything, and power wash it off. you wont do any damage to anything (i do them all the time at work), but, dont spend too much time around the fuse box or other electrical areas.

next, if you'd like, once everything is dry, spray everything with Amourall. everything will look brand new again

Try the process in this video.
Use something like a Zep Citrus for all purpose cleaner available at Home Depot. Use a dressing like Perl from Carpro or dressing from Canadian Tire such as Autoglym.

A pressure washer is not needed and not recommended.

I use a all purpose cleaner on a cold engine and a old wash mitt and a brush scrub then I use a garden hose to rince off then dry the engine bay with a microfiber towel.... I my self don't like using any kind of dressing in the engine bay

Thank you guys.

Is there any method without using water?

I mean 'waterless engine room cleaning'.

Without using water your best bet would be to use a all purpose cleaner and a microfiber towel and spray all the plastic peices and wipe off... That's pretty much all you can do without using water

Yes. You can buy a waterless wash at CT or use ONR with some water and a microfibre towel. Or if you don't want to dirty your mf towels you can use those blue shop towels. Then use a plastic/rubber dressing.

Definitely can be done without water, but requires a lot of elbow greese, patience and time, but you usually end up with a better result using this method.
All depends on how intesive you wanna go with this detailing ...
I did this on my RX7 cause I just didn't wanna introduce unwanted electrical issues on a 21yr old car!
Just don't expect to have it all done in 1 day, take your time, concentrate on 1 section at a time and treat it like ppl are going to concentrate particularly at THAT section, and just do the best you can in there.
I sometimes go as far as removing things that get in my way just so I can really get behind it and clean the crap out.

You're gonna need a whack of cheap microfiber towels or Scott's blue shop towels, also if you can, get your hands on Motul Shine & Go to cut through the grease and dirt easier, that's pretty much what I use in the engine bay surfaces and plastics for my RX7.

Haha. Nice!
You should use google for this one. I think I remember that you're Korean so here it is:
팔의 힘으로하는 일
pal-ui him-eulohaneun il

It means a lot of physical effort.

I swear we're all getting trolled.

Did the people at Wal-Mart and CT laugh when you asked them this? "Elbow grease" means putting in manual effort. If you could buy it, you'd find it near the headlight fluid.

I buy my elbow grease from Zehrs.

Between, whenever I take my car in for a wash, I pop the hood and spray engine bay with spot-less rinse option at the car wash. I do it once every week and never had any problem. The water force is not high and its just right to get salt and dirt out. Been doing this for quiet some time. And no need of any degreaser.

I think we are all curious. Did you ask any of the workers at CT or Home Depot if they had any elbow grease and if so what was their response?

I just asked them to show grease section. There were lots of grease such as litium grease, silicon grease, white grease. They said "these are the all they have" I didnt ask elbow grease directly to worker.

I searched internet while i was in CT. And i could find elbow grease in google.

In the cleaning section at CT anf walmart, there is no 'elbow grease' cleaner.

I bought an engine shampoo. I will wash my engine room next week

Lol, sorry man, I assumed you would've known what I meant by "elbow greese" :)
As for the method I described, well, its a thorough detailing which probably doesn't make sense for a daily driver, so ya, quick engine shampoo and rinse would go a long way towards keeping things cleaner as well.

Steamer, still water just a lot less of it. A good steamer does a great job:) If you don't know how, find a detailier that can look after it for you. Most do it for $50 or so. I have been searching for a can of elbow grease for years, best thing i came up with was having a son.
