I got an error code with my OBD that came up shaft speed sensor. I found some good info in the forums and what to do and how to change it. I had a hard time getting the part and finally went to Mazda direct. Only problem is the gave me the wrong sensor. The ssensor I gothas three terminals and the one that was pictured in the forum was two terminals. I found the three terminal and it's located on the back of the transmission and near the bottom. Does anyone know what that sensor is called?

The one on the back of the transmission is the speed sensor. It tells the speedometer what to display.

Here's what I found through a bit of research. Looks like the sensor you are looking for is on the front of the transmission. The vehicle speed sensor does have 3 pins and is at the back of the transmission on the differential part. The input shaft speed sensor that you are looking for is 2 pin and is at the front of the transmission.
