Hey im thinking on getting a set of nankang ns2, 225 40-18 for my stockers. I know theyre not a great tire but i just wanna get some feedback from somebody who owns them. How good is the grip, etc.

I would say you get what you pay for. I have a set of Falkens. PM if interested.

There are a lot of mixed reviews on nankangs. Well theyre cheap tbh so ure saying theyre not a good bang for the buck?

How about you invest some money on better tires. After all they are the only thing between the ground and your car. Think of it as an investment for your own safety. A tire is not just a tire, the materials they are made of and what's in them plays a huge role. The softer the tire the more grip you have but the faster the tire will wear

I was looking into tires not too long ago and many people advised me not to get Nankangs. My suggestion to you is to not get them however I would encourage you to read reviews online on them or any tire for that matter. Good luck!

I think you answered your own question there...search around for some better options. Choose from one of these and you should be alright

Don't be a peasant, more so if you drive a speed3.

The dry grip isn't anything to brag about, but I had them on my old mz3 and on my gfs G5 and they were extremely tough and reliable - lasted forever. Not sure if they've changed.
I rolled a new set of falken 452s on my speed (significantly more pricey than the nankangs) and they were very loud and were destroyed within 1 summer.
If you have no money, they are the best bang for your buck IMO providing you don't drive like a maniac or track your car - would certainly not recommend them for that. at all For daily driving they should work just fine.

There you go... "Lasted forever" not a good tire. I use Michelin pilot sport PS2 and nothing but. Expensive as hell burned out in about 2 summers but they are worth it. They are on the very high end of tire pricing though and even I consider it extreme but to me it's worth it.
The falkens you had are not that bad but they do feather quite easily causing your noise. Just stay on top of alignments and you will minimize the feathering issues

I bought a set of Continental Extremes, waited and paid a good sum but couldn't be happier. Dry is fantastic, wet surprisingly amazing. I don't have a Speed3 but A++ from me on these. I have them in a 225/40/18 version.

NS2 are not really that good of a tire, but you already know that. I would spend a bit more and get something better. Remember you can have the craziest HP and the best brakes...but at the end of the day you have a 6 inch contact patch to the ground and what tire/rubber you have WILL make a tremendous difference.

If you are looking for cheap and good (atleast what the reviews say so far) the NS2-R (the R makes a big difference) is what I would look at if I didnt have a set of Nitto NT05

I bought a pair of ohtsu fp8000. Theyre the same falken 452. I got then for 550. I know theyre better than the nankangs for sure, will try these out and let u know how it goes

IMO NS2's are great for wheel whores, who are looking for something cheap that have some decent stretch before they decide to move onto another set of wheels/fad. Daily driven city traffic, to and from meets, just something to roll around on.

I had a new set of 225/40/18's that I bought for $400, rode around on them for a season and a half, and sold them for the same amount lol

Certainly not a tire for any MS3 owners who do some spirited driving.

I currently run a set of those on my RX8's

A few things I have noticed:

1. They are a "narrow" 225, ended up having a slight stretch when put on my RX8's which I wasn't exactly looking for.
2. They are a pretty basic tire, nothing spectacular in the wet or dry, lots of wheel spin in almost any driving condition when starting from stop. Note: I drive the N/A 2.3 not a speed, couldn't imagine taking off with these with a turbo.
3. Will likely outlast your car, very hard rubber compound.
4. If it was in my budget right now I would switch them out for something else in heartbeat.

Do what everyone else here is recommending and save up a little longer for a tire a level or two up from these.
