Hmm.. How long would that last? I doubt it's permanent.

Almost certain it is a non permanent but long lasting coating similar to opticoat .

Didnt watch the video but im assuming its the same coating on self clean glass it is permanent. Also pretty damn cheap. (10c/sqft.)

Permanent, maybe, but not durable.
If it's the same thing used on glass, then it's just titanium dioxide. It's a very thin film. If you scrub at it with a normal microfiber cloth you can take it off - > even the smallest surface contaminants would become abrasive and ruin the coating.

If it's going onto a car then it's going to be something else. Something more durable. I bet if you look into patents Nissan will have filed something regarding this. Or its just an of the shelf product and the commercial is for show.

I hear from a friend opti coatis not even close to long lasting.. Had it done in thr fall and its all gone now apparently. Was done by hazma on the forums here. But then again is it rated to last if you have a wash pass and wash the car every to every other day. Doubt that as well. This looks similar to that never wet stuff

Ok so the question is... Is this dipable? Can it be wrapped?

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the coating?

But if the dip is thick enough, it will stick. Probably not very good. Peel off while driving haha.

EDIT:

If you look at the end of this video, wet paint doesn't seem to stick. Though I think the paint is probably water based.

Mud is water based too.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but so is rain.

I meant it as more of a joke but I guess one would have issues.
Thanks, I learnt something

Lol I used your post to answer his question.

Should get a can of that rustoleum stuff and do a test. Start with water based things, then harsher stuff like oil paint or vinegar.

I remember seeing something similar on kickstarter last year. I think it was called neverwet where they spray a coat of it and nothing sticks to it.
