Since jan I've had this sound coming from the engine bay, it was a shaking/rattling sounds like its going round and round noise, originally I thought it was motor mounts letting the motor hit. Today I was getting my oil changed and jumped over to see what the mechanic thought. The engine doesn't move at all, although there is some fluid released from the pass. engine mount. He then started watching the pulley system, and it appears one of the pulleys may be warped? A bearing would typically cause noise all the time right? I'm hoping the crank pulley is ok. Could it just be worn belts? I've never heard this in any other vehicle
Thanks

Your PMM is leaking and it's shot. You need to replace it. Very common part to go on these cars. Visit an affiliate dealer for discounted OEM replacement.

It is the No #3 engine mount. They usually seperate around the bottom of the mount. If you stick a mirror behind it and shine a flashlight you can see it without taking it off.

Good tip

So I replaced the mount with factory from mazda. The original sound is gone, now there is an intermittent whining noise when at very low speeds, almost sounds like something tapping. Belt tensioner?

Turns out the A/C clutch was the culprit, possibly the bearing is seized as well.

Care to let us know what replacement or repair path you went thru? and costs roughly?

Right now I have the belt removed, but ya no problem. I called local Master Mechanic, as I don't have a recovery unit for r134, they said if I brought my own parts it would likely be under 3 hours of labour. So now I decide if I do it, or get a shop to do it.

Under 3 hours sounds reasonable. I'd advise that you ask the technician to clean up the engine with brake clean or degreaser after repair.
Changing the compressor will splatter PAG oil and dye everywhere. It will make it unnecessarily difficult to UV-diagnose refrigerant leakage in the future.
And, for your knowledge, ask him to report what your system pressures are before recovering the Freon.

FYI:
It's not uncommon to replace every component in the air conditioning system in a single job when servicing.
It's a catch-all procedure when repairing leaks; more popular in Québec where halocarbons are tightly controlled.

Lux you almost had me, then you called it freon. Calling refrigerant freon, is well just naming a brand. R134 is the refrig used, old cars used r12, which is where everyone started calling refrigs freon. Ammonia is also a refrigerant, but no one calls it freon. Damn inconsistencies. Well I've done HVAC for a number of years, and have basically figured I can just replace the bearing in the clutch, maybe easier said than done. There are no leaks in the system, so I belive I can use a bearing puller and get it off.
