Hi guys I have a 2005 mazda axela manual car...car idles perfectly at 800rpm,no acceleration issues...The only problem is when i rev it in neutral rpm drops to around 500 rpm and recover it again up to 1000rpm and back to 800 rpm..this happens within seconds..If i rev slowly this doesn't happen but if i do a quick rev upto about 6000 rpm this happens...what could be the issue....I did a throttle body clean as well..still the same...:)

Clean the MAF sensor and then do an ECU reset (take negative terminal off battery for 10 minutes and pump brakes a few times and then re-connect).

i had a similar problem back in the winter...when cleaning the maf sensor, check to see if theres any corrosion on the inside (get flashlight and carefully look). That was one of the problems for me. The secondary problem was that my wires were corroding from the inside apparently. This process is even more annoying because you have to figure out which one it is.

Use electrical contact cleaner on the MAF sensor. You can get it from Canadian Tire. Don't touch it though as its very fragile and kind of expensive.
Also is your check engine light on? This also sounds like a failed ignition coil.
