Hey guys,

Just looking for some opinions here. I'm transferring the system outta my truck to my 3 and I'm more or so looking for a sleak, hidden look.

So far, I've considered mounting the amp under the floor the hatch like so:
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e324/x2daz11/IMG_20140520_134438_369_zps5c5a3976.jpg (http://s42.photobucket.com/user/x2daz11/media/IMG_20140520_134438_369_zps5c5a3976.jpg.html)

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e324/x2daz11/IMG_20140520_135103_153_zps0e4cdcc0.jpg (http://s42.photobucket.com/user/x2daz11/media/IMG_20140520_135103_153_zps0e4cdcc0.jpg.html)

Now, I haven't decided if it would be best to just trim away at the styrofoam support so the amp fits, or if I should make my own customized floor by copying the carpet shape twice (like this):
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e324/x2daz11/IMG_20140520_135043_837_zps56356fa4.jpg (http://s42.photobucket.com/user/x2daz11/media/IMG_20140520_135043_837_zps56356fa4.jpg.html)

And then using a 1/2" piece of plywood as my sub floor which I'll mount the amp on, adding a few support pieces of wood around the edges and inner portion to support the next floor of 1/2" piece of particle board/plywood which will cover the amp, and then finally add the stock carpet piece back over top. Hopefully you can visualize what I plan to do.

Any other amp mounting recommendations? Would prefer to have it hidden.

And if anyone is wondering, I'll be using the shallow mount Kicker CVT102 that I had behind the seat of my single cab Dakota as a temporary setup. Plan to have something even more sleek than this and retain full storage space of my hatch.

I'm all for false floors. I say make a new floor just for when you want to go back to stock

I certainly think the false floor would give it a nice customized look, but where I would trim the styrofoam would be on the bottom and hidden.

Thanks for your suggestion though.

I'm all about false floors too.. Except i'm also all about not carrying a shitty donut around in my trunk, so I'd lose the spare, bolt the plywood to the spare tire mounting bolt and call it a day. I've done that in both my cars. Only needed the false floor in the M2 because the Kinetic battery wouldn't clear the normal floor.

I've been spare less for awhile. My air setup is down yonder.

By air setup do you mean one of those portable air compressors that a lot of new vehicles come with?

I had planned on keeping the spare in case I get a flat far from home, but it does add a lot of extra weight.

No, my car is bagged so I mean my air suspension setup. Tank/Compressor/Manifold.

I guess only one more component than you are thinking.

One of the compressors is not "a lot of extra weight" it's like 2 lbs at most. You gain and lose that much depending on the size of your dump that day.

I was referring to the spare tire.

As in replacing the spare with one of those air compressors (if they even work).
