Hey guys

My wife was driving the car yesterday and when she pulled on the highway the A/C just died and starting blowing hot air. I checked all the fuses and they are fine. When I looked at it, i could hear some weird noises coming out of the compressor. I'm just wondering if it could be a bearing? Cluth die? I just really don't wanna spend 500 bucks for a new compressor if I don't need to.

Any suggestions to narrow down the exact problem?

Thanks,

If your comp is dead, it's dead. Mazda (at last check) didn't make them serviceable. So clutch, bearing, whatever it's all the same kick to the giblets.

Thanks for the link. I'm going to try and replace the bearing and see if that solves the problem. If anybody is looking for the bearing btw, goto Toronto Bearings & Belting Ltd. The specs are:

55MM X 35MM X 20MM

They will have it for me in the morning. Will post outcome and pics.
