Hey Guys,

I am looking to put HIDs on my 2007 Mazda3 GT. I've had many Mazda3 2004's in the past, all with the HID kit but I've never been satisfied with the results. The beam wasn't great, and neither was the color or the light.

So I know this may sound absurd of me but I want to have the results of a real HID without dishing out 1000$ for it. I've considered swapping my headlights with the factory HID ones but that would cost me around 700$. So my question is what is needed to modify my headlights so I get the same results as a real HID D2s or DS2 bulb. This maybe impossible but similar lighting to the ones in benz. In my previous setup the lights would flicker, and weren't as bright and wouldn't go in a long distance. I figured since Mazda's come with projectors in their headlight, that HIDs would look identical to the ones of Factory HIDs.

I read on the forum that I can modify my projector with a clear lens which will give me straight beam, anything else I can do? Anything else I should be getting? I've heard that the HID projectors are different from the Halogen ones, if so how can I modify my headlights such that I get the same affect. I found the following following posts but I want to know if I need anything else?

For OEM-like performance, you'll need to swap in a complete OEM projector housing. Just doing lenses won't guarantee that the geometry for the bulbs and lenses will be correct to get maximum performance.

ok this brings me to my next question, how are the morimoto mini stage 3 D2S projectors and how hard is it to install them?

Thanks
