I'm just wondering if anyone knows the stock power draw for the DRLs and high beams.
I'm wanting to upgrade the stock bulbs with some Nokya Arctic Whites and so far I've found stage 1 and stage 2 bulbs. I thought the only difference between the two was the power draw... apparently not.
I don't want to buy any bulbs that are a higher wattage than stock of fear of melting.
Thanks.

Quick googling got me:
DRL: http://www.sylvania.com/en-us/applications/automotive-lighting-systems/Pages/lrgproductspecs.aspx?partnumber=7443
Hi Beam: http://www.sylvania.com/en-us/applications/automotive-lighting-systems/Pages/lrgproductspecs.aspx?partnumber=9005

Thanks... not sure what you mean by that but that doesn't answer my question.
From what I've found its 35w DRL to 55w when the hi beams are turned on.
I've found these bulbs in stage 1 at 35w, 55w, 65w and 80w.
Need to know which ones are safe.
Cheers

From the link above, it stated the DRL was 25W.....
Are your Hi-beams and DRL the same light?
Your Hi-beams stock are 65W, So anything up to that is perfectly fine.
I have never heard of stage 1 or 2 lights? Post a link to the headlights.
I personally would stay away from the higher wattage ones for sure, To be honest they look like the cheap bulbs trying to look like HID's, the blue coating actually reduces light output on these bulbs.
Why not look into HID's? You can get a decent set for like $50 these days.

Those links only list bulb types and brands. I don't see where it lists he wattage - please specify.
Edit: apologies now I see. On my phone and missed it completely. Thanks
In 2nd gens the DRLs are the hi beams at a lower output.
The stage 1 and 2 apply to the specific brand of bulb I'm looking to get. Hope to have a member who has these bulbs to chime in.

Yeah sorry. I edited my post. I'm on my phone and didn't see that part.
Now I'm just trying to determine if this applies to US or Canadian vehicles. Apparently there are differences with the lights.

Unless you want to upgrade to a heavy duty harness, stick with stage 1. 9005 stock wattage are rated @ 65w but as DRL wont run with the full draw. Plenty of members here run Nokya bulbs with no issue, myself included.

Thanks Dynames,
I wasn't sure to go with the 35W or the 65W. I'll have a look into the 65W now.
Appreciate it!

staax, don't get Stage 2 Nokya bulbs. They will melt more than just your wiring harness even with the so called heavy duty wiring set.
Stage 1 is 65W and is good for 9005 highbeams. You will rarely run them at full strength so you should never encounter any heating issues.

Great thank you! Any recommendations between the 7000k or 5000k or 3800k? Looking for the whitest possible bulb without too much yellow/blue.

5000k is what you want, 7k will have blue, and 3800k will have yellow.
